lolNo...just no.
DC++...soooo easy and so good.
Someone let me know if this kind of discussion is forbidden here.
Dc++, like most other p2ps, doesn't have much older content, which is basically the problem with most torrents as well. Unless you can get access to a dedicated private tracker, filehosting sites (RS, newsgroups etc) will almost always be faster for sharing files or other shadier activities. Signing up is worth the cost, in my opinion.
Here's a question:
We know that Pre-Crisis feats are valid for the Green Lantern Corps because they were "somewhere else" during teh Crisis and not subject to the retcons. But do PC feats count for Alan Scott, who was present?
It's my understanding that pre-crisis feats are only invalidated in those cases where we are talking about characters from separate universes. Like how PC Superman is Earth-2 Superman, whereas current Superman is originally from Earth-1. Different people entirely. But if a character is the same, but merely switches Earths, like Alan did in going from Earth-2 to Earth-1, then their PC feats are still valid.
So I guess it's a general question, but just uses Alan as an example, since this could apply to a number of characters.
The proof of a pudding is in its eating, in my opinion. Even for characters that haven't been subject to the crisis, and who still theoretically have access to all their PC feats, it still doesn't matter unless that level is perpetuated by post-crisis feats. Otherwise, the average showings of said character would fall, and the usual jobber/PIS claims would surface in any case. The fact that DC wanted to use the crisis as deus ex machina to errata power levels makes it less believable that they actually wanted certain characters to stay at PC levels.
Simply put, looking at DS, even if he was not subject to the crisis, his post-crisis showings on average would be at odds with his pre-crisis ones on average. If superman has been depowered and is his benchmark, and if said benchmark performs arguably close enough to DS in battle, that would implicitly constitute a power-down in my book. It doesn;t have to be explicitly stated.

I see you point and would agree, but I'm talking about people who haven't had such rash revisions. DS wouldn't fall in the realm of my question. pre-crisis feats in general were less powerful (barring occasional inexpicable feats), so most have a slight upward trend, but there's plenty of characters (unlike DS) who have remained fairly consistent from pre to post crisis.
The reason I ask is this: Hal Jordan, for example, shrunk Shaggy Man pre-crisis (I think). That feat is still valid since the GLC wasn't affected by Crisis, even though he hasn't shrunk anyone since (again, I don't think he has). PC Supes was a different character entirely. Same with a lot of characters, so they're PC feats obviously don't count because they weren't their feats. But people like Alan Scott weren't different, he just switched earths, and he has roughly the same power set that he's always had. Why shouldn't PC feats count, for him and others who are the same character both pre and post crisis, even though he was present for the crisis?
