does bobby still feel pain, and how spread out can his consciousness become and be unable to reform? ie -- if hydroman's form is scattered wide enough he is effectively eliminated. sandman likewise. hell, even the pf is susceptible to that type of attack.
i see a battle between them going something like this:
supes attacks bobby before he can react. his first instinct would likely be heat vision that would melt bobby. supes would likely think he's won until a lot of pain comes his way as bobby begins to try and draw the moisture from supes or tries to stop the molecules in supes body from moving via the water contained in his cells. now, there's been a LOT of speculation over whether this is viable. i'd say yes -- but i'd also say bobby would need TIME to do this. supes cells ARE protected much more than the average person's even if they are not completely invulnerable. supes would be able to resist the attack imo for a while. he would also know that bobby could now attack him even if his body is destroyed. now here a couple things could happen: bobby could transfer his consciousness into supes via the water in his body. in order for me to accept that, i would need to see some evidence of his doing this at some point. when he's extended his consciousness, i've seen in the scans that he appeared a little disoriented. transfering his consciousness into another body? i'd need proof, otherwise that is unfounded speculation.
the more likely response imo would be that bobby would reform his body into a coherent mass. that would certainly be the more comfortable form. once he's done that, supes attacks at lightspeed, forming a vortex around bobby and blasting him with heat vision, vaporizing him. if supes is traveling at c, it's again at BEST debateable that bobby could gain control over the water in his body -- could his consciousness catch up to supes who is moving so quickly? AND he wouldn't have much time to do so. if his consciousness is still human -- as it seems to be -- he would likely be disorientated and in pain (if he feels it) being in a lightspeed vortex while being bombarded with heat vision. even as he is being vaporized, his essence/consciousness would be being sucked up high into the atmosphere and beyond into space, scattered . . . who knows HOW far. hundreds or thousands of miles perhaps. perhaps even further. the key is scattering his consciousness which would effectively kill or render bobby unable to reform forever or at least a VERY long time.
if he were desperate as bobby tried to freeze him, supes could simply blast away into space at near lightspeed, out of bobby's influence (again, if you want me to believe he can actually transfer his consciousness INTO superman, i'd need proof), heal with a sun dip, then fly back to earth at even GREATER than c and attack as i indicated above.
i think bobby is capable of affecting supes in the way many others do. i also think supes could resist long enough to use his speed to scatter bobby's consciousness thus not ALLOWING him the opportunity to use his powers.
