Thor vs. Hulk

Started by Wild Shadow141 pages

no one is saying hulk cant beat thor in certain situation its the likely outcome that some ppl disagree on.

Thor never uses his full rage and exotic powers he displays against other cosmic lvl bricks when he faces Hulk... and thor's durability feats are beyond what hulk has ever handled...

its why do ppl feel the need to dumb him down enough to face hulk h2h brawl almost every time they meet?

if that isnt bad enough for the 1st time in recorded marvel history hulk is able to completely overpower thor the precedence for this phenomenal was Loeb force Rulk by the way..

but the fact is that their last fight thor seem to be out of character with hulk in the 1st place.

I've always stated Thor wins if he uses his more exotic pwers but he doesn't against the Hulk so he won't do so in character. Remove the in character part or use a specific mindset for Thor and he takes a clear majority. In character these guys fight tooth and nail and basing the majority off of their stalemates and the fact Hulk is healing and getting stronger I favor him for a minimal majority.

Nothing for someone like you. But for those who can look beyond character specific fights... lots.

its always taken Hulk a long time to reach thor lvl strength and for thor at the last moments to stop holding back and going into a rage...

If thor simply snapped and just bludgeons hulk from the beginning of the fight like he does at the end of the fight hulk would never reach the strength lvl to hurt or put up a decent fight with thor even without the exotic powers.

He isn't just looking at one fight I think he is saying this one fight is proof Hulk can flat out beat Thor as his proof along with their stalemate history.

If Thor went all out and wanted to kill the Hulk and brought his best stuff Hulk loses. I think it's a win for both character bases here. Most characters can't take on the Hulk like Thor has.

Thor might ko him and has with a lightning blast before but considering he doesn't ko him it's unlikely it will happen or that it will decide the majority in a ten out of ten type scenario.

Exactly, you're talking about the history of Hulk vs Thor, I'm talking about the histories of Hulk and Thor individually.

So you want us to ignore how Thor fights the Hulk?

how a fight with a no holding back thor should go...

hulk: Hulk smash puny long hair girl!!! hulk strongest one their is!!!

Thor: you dare!! ur stupidity is only matched by ur arrogance!!

Thor and hulk run at each other... hulk throws a punch but misses since thor is a highly skilled warrior and side steps him using his godspeed moving at the speed of lightning which he commands he lands multiple magic/lightning charged hammer blows to Hulks head..

Hulk not registering what just happen slumps over for the TKO...

i have no time to play with you Hulk had you not made me angry i would not have faced you as my equal as i have others like Silver Surfer, Mangog, Kurse, Thanos, Destroyer the mind addled buffoon as well as the asgardian armor.... etc etc.. while i wait for you to regain consciousness i will fill ur dreams of asgardian tales of my cosmic magical adventures for it is the least i can do for you hulk...

As per forum rules, yeah...

Clarification of CIS

Ok people, here are the finalised rules as regards PIS, CIS, and everything related to it.

PIS is, as always, off unless the thread starter says it's ON.

CIS, as was said before, is now a more diverse term, but is not as vague as before.

While CIS still exists in the form of characters like Rhino (who are just too stupid to know better), it also exists in one other form.

This is known as Character Inhibited Power. This applies to characters that have intelligence, like the Silver Surfer, Superman, and so on and so forth.

As Bada said:

"It's a self imposed limitation in certain circumstances which there is concern for civilians and buildings for the most part. It's not stupidity, it's a limitation set until the threat exceeds a certain threshold."

What this means is that people like the Surfer and Superman and so on will not use the full extent of their powers if it will endanger civilians. It doesn't, though, mean they will fight like idiots. The character's personality is an integral part of the match and dictates how they will perform. This is the crux of the rules we've come up with. It doesn't come down to powers, it comes down to the man or woman that weilds them.

In accordance with this, several factors come in to play in debates:

The Opponent, Basic Information, the Arena and the Character's Personality and Experience

Those four are key.

Example:

If Martian Manhunter fights say, Juggernaut.

MM doesn't personally know Juggernaut (Opponent). So he has Basic Information. This is categorised as being what the general public would know about the Juggernaut. It goes by averages. If that average man or woman on the street knows that Juggernaut is super strong, then MM knows. The average man or woman doesn't know, however, that the Juggernaut is weak against psionics. J'onn would approach with caution, not knowing whether Juggernaut was in his weight class, and not knowing the full extent of the man's powers.

However. If Martian Manhunter went up against Amazo, he would know to go for broke right at the start, because he KNOWS Amazo (Personality and Experience). He will use his speed, his strength, his shapeshifting. This is because if he knows what it takes to bring down Amazo, or he believes his standard attacks won't work. If J'onn was fighting Juggernaut, there would come a point when he would realise that normal attacks won't work, and would up his game. Any character that doesn't suffer from Rhino-esque stupidity is capable of this. Even with this, though, the Arena comes in to play. If civilians are in danger, J'onn won't shapeshift in to a fire breathing dragon. Juggernaut on the other hand doesn't care, so wouldn't hesitate to toss cars and trucks full of civilians at the Martian.

Examples:

Thor knows he can't out-brawl Hulk, so uses exotic powers sooner than he would against the likes of Superman, as Superman is an unknown to him.

Superman would go all out against Doomsday or Despero because he knows how powerful they are. Against the Hulk, he's going to take a few punches before realising he'll have to use something rather than slugging it out. He won't bathe the street in heat vision either, because there are civilians nearby.

It ALL comes down to the CHARACTER, not the POWERSET.

Thor uses his exotic powers against Hulk in a forum fight, despite his never ever doing so against Hulk on panel because he's shown that it's in character for him to use exotic powers when the situation calls for it.

What's more, just looking at the Hulk vs Thor fights ignores all their fights against guys like Namor and Ironman. How the characters are portrayed on the whole is far more important than how they are portrayed in individual matches. I know you disagree, but there it is.

So you want to take his whole personality out of the matchup and disregard all their matchups and go about the way of abc logic.

We know Thor has powers that can defeat the Hulk but since he's been pissed off enough to try and kill the Hulk before and still did nothing but swing his hammer I'd say you just want to argue powersets here.

Like I said Thor has the tools to defeat the Hulk but based on his pride which is a huge part of Thor's personality he won't resort to it against the Hulk no matter how he fights other threats.

Thor had Hulk down, beaten and then did what most heroes do...He started talking! Seriously, telling Hulk to "yield" and "the better man has won"?

Fact is Thor showed mercy and it came back and bit him. If Thor doesn't start his "hero dialogue" then the fight looks a lot different. It's plain CIS that happens to most heroes. See Superman.

And this is coming from a known Hulk fan.

buy hulk also does that against thor

he'd beaten thor to an inch of his life and decides to jump to the next state rather than finish thor off.

Thor was not beaten to an inch of his life. The writer clearly says otherwise. Thor was down but could have gotten back into the fight if Hulk hadn't jumped away to save the pregnant lady.

Thor had a broke nose or a nose close to being broken. That doesn't even come close to being beaten with an inch of your life.

And why does everyone argue as if there were no circumstances in this fight?

I'm talking about this past fight since it's causing such commotion. Hulk can beat people within an inch of their lives and not finish them off because he's cool like that! durhulk

hmm... i dont like ur insulting gay comment,
reported. 😬

anyways if that isnt within character lets try again then...

Thor: I shall face you as an equal hulk with no hammer..

Hulk; Hulk has no equal!! hulk strongest one their is!!!

run at each other Hulk throws a few punches but misses Thor as Thor ducks and weaves, taking one or two blows blocking and countering waiting for an opening landing a punch to hulks jaw...lighting and thunder emanates from thor's fist as it connects with the jaded jaw.

Hulk: Wing head hurt hulk!!!

Thor: it has just started brute.. my fist be Thunder and lightning oaf!!! (thor kicks Hulk in the jewels) and my legs be the very storm itself hurrican force winds!!

Hulk falls over thor taking advantage goes for the ground and pound not letting up with each mighty blow thunder and lightning is released from his fist and storm clouds form over head the ground trembles at Thor's merciless attack via his connection to mother earth..

Hulk lying on the ground knocked out and possibly dead his face deformed and seared his neck snapped... Thor stands up looking at his enemy he stretches out his hand and summons mjonlir and aims it at hulks body once and for all ending hulks comic career via incineration of every atom..

That's a bit high imo. I see Hulk taking 5.1 out of 10 myself. The barest of majorities.
