Why wasnt Surfer able to break free here?
All wonderman and Vison did was tap into their own internal power stores through the machines. All it did was increase their energy output to throw Surfers out of phaze.

Surfer can turn himself into a subatomic particle hundreds of billions of times smaller than an atom.

kgkg, when only wasp and warbird was attacking, Surfer was unable to move. The others came in 3 pages later.
Wonderman and Vision was NOT using tech that Surfer used. It was Ironman's creation i believe. They used rigs to tap into their own internal power stores. It increased their energy output. It was to modulate Surfers energy just like Surfer did to Wonderman. They didnt take any tech from Surfer. They just used his modulating idea back at him.
Wonderman isnt Hulk level either.
And they werent trying to KO him. Just contain him.
