i was referring to spiderman 2... sorry... 😮spiderman 1 was ok, but spidey 2 was great imo...
As much as I hated Green Goblin making SM looking like a Power Rangers movie, I disliked part 2 even more. It just got too cheezy at times and I was especially angry with the random times where it was filmed like a horror movie from the early 1900s. One of the scenes I remember doing that was in the hospital when the robotic arms on Dr. Oct controlled themselves. The camera jumped all around and then you'd see a nurse run up to the camera and scream as if they were in Home Alone. I'm glad you like BB more though.
at first I thought that scene with the girl screaming in front of the camera (as well as later when another girl screams when Doc Ock was climbing the wall) was cheesy as hell, but if you think about it....flip open any Spidey comic book and u'll see scenes like that all the time. Very cartoony, direct, served its purpose.

I personally don't care about how many stars or whether it got a thumbs up or thumbs down.
Because while Ebert and Reoper are usually justified in what they say, it is usually them over analyzing the movie. Just like most critics do.
I sit back and watch the movie and then form my own opinion on it. I say which movie I was more entertained by.
And to be honest, I was more entertained by the special effects, the creative ways they used their powers and the light-toned humor of Fantastic Four than the dark, moody and slow-moving Batman Begins movie. In fact, that was my main problem with the Batman Begins: Yes, it was nice to see them take the time to nicely develop Bruce Wayne's transition into Batman, but it just simply took too long.
While BB had a more compelling story, FF was just simply more fun to watch.
EDIT* Oops... I posted this in the wrong thread. My bad. Believe it or not this post wasn't directed towards Supremthor.

I mean, when the movie finally picked up it picked up and was fun.
I'm still not going to kiss BB's ass like everyone else though. Seriously, posters on these boards are calling BB one of the "best 10 movies of the last decade" which is greatly overhyping it. It was a good/decent Batman flick. And just because it's Batman, and everyone is a Batman fan, they go crazy like it's the second coming of Jesus.
BB brought nothing new to the table at all. There were no fresh ideas or innovations. Spiderman revolutionized comic movies. You can't say that BB, X-men, or any other comic movies right now arn't riding on the coat tails of Spiderman's success.
Allrighty... so I actually found that BB was the most revolutionary CBmovie yet. It was the only one that really dove into the pages of the comic and looked at what we'd see. Also, it didn't try to use special effects to keep us interested. It had a witty dialogue and good actors. The writers were smart enough to not say 'hi, I'm batman. I am scared of bats, my parents got killed, i ran away from my city to find out about myself, i met a nice man in jail. he taught me some nice things, his dojo got set on fire, he got hurt, i saved him. i went back to my city, which was suddenly dirty. aww... shucks, that stinks. anyway, i decided to be a hero! yipee!! i made a suit and a character, and went on the streets to save the world! some other stuff hapened, but it's too chilling to explain... i won in the end though. so that's good. yay. now i have to go fight some guy called joker. oh, yea, i made out with this really hot chick. tom cruise's 'girlfriend.' booyah!' Yes, I know, this is an exhageration of the SM plots, but it isn't that bad. This movie dwelves in some actual issues, it took it's time to develop the character a little bit, and it shgowed the actual creation of the legend. it didn't ust go *pop* and batman was born. it showed him make the suit (a very nice subtlety)! something I'd never seen in a CBmovie. It showed him get som of his legendary gadgets, which was nice. It had the normal simple ideas, then it had the fdeep subplots, and deeper, subber, plottier, plots.
Oh, yea, I saw FF yesterday, it was awsome!!! I thought it was just another Marvel Brand CBmovie, though. It had a very simple plot, and the characters didn't develop there powers enough, though. Invisible Woman did have a decent development, but the rest... maby Human Torch, and his flying obsession, but other that that... Look, I stretch, I stretch... Good clean movie, popcorn, chicks, party, pizza, etc movie, but not Fantastic Four from the pages to the screen, ink to actors. That was what Batman was, which no other Comic movie has quite managed. Keep trying, Marvel!! (lol One DC movie tramples, what? 5 Marvels? lol not saying anything through this, I still loved SM and X-men...)
As I thought, I disliked FF, but maybe even more than I thought I would. The movie was corny as hell the whole time. The only character I liked was Thing because he was the only one that seemed semi-serious in the movie. The other 3 characters sucked (4 including Dr Doom). Doom's voice was way too friendly sounding coming out of that mask. BOO Fantastic Four!

To each his own but imo Sin City was far more what you're describing, than BB was. Aside from Jessica Alba's no nudity clause (which must be destroyed!) it was a pretty direct translation of Frank Miller's vision. As much as I liked BB, and I do think it was a good movie, revolutionary is a bit of a stretch, in terms of Batman movies it was groundbreaking and revitalising I guess, but in terms of CB movies as a whole personally I don't think so.
lol, me neither, really. I have respect for FF, it was an okay movie in general, but I actually found it to be just another comi book film. Just like the Hulk and Daredevil, this wasnot done half as well as it could, and should, have been done.
BB was both a comic movie and a normal movie. If you took away the batman emblem, and replaced it with... a shark, you'd have the same great film. Deep and poetic. Just like the comic. It was too good to be true. Much better than any other comic book movie. It really raises the bar and slaps Marvel back awake. Common!! Put out Blackpanther, make it GOOD, and turn our heads back to the M!!!!
