but then while i don't like the governments hypocrisy in what they say about the way we should lead our lives...i do however think thats its correct to try and fight against terrorism than to take the easy route of ignoring it and hoping they wont attack us
imagine our world now if we as a nation done that very thing in a historical context...sat by and watched Hitlers Germany exterminate everyone who they believed didn't suit their social agenda
while islamic terrorism is obviously not on the same scale, it follows the same mentallity...
islamic fundamentalists dont attack purely out of reaction to what we are doing in iraq (although i'm not saying that isn't part of the reason) but thier doctrine over the past 20+ years has been that anyone involved in politics is trying to take power that belongs to God (Allah) and therefor is a legitimate target for killing
you cant barter with that kind of belief...you cant ignore the people who kill in the name of that belief...you have to tackle it...
and thats where the difficult desicions have to be made and thats where mistakes have been made over the past few years
but then the issues brought up at the G8 are addressing what is one of the driving sources of global terrorism towards the west...and the experts overwhelmingly agree that issue is poverty
one thing i found very ironic and frankly hilarious about the whole ID card debacle is that the biometrics proposed to be used are finger prints and retina scans...and one of the main issues they are supposed to tackle is islamic extremism backed terror...from the likes of abu hamza
so can anyone tell me the flaw in the argument after looking at this picture of abu hamza?
