i still think dumbledore ordered snape to kill him ....remember the conversation tht hagrid over heard with snape and dumble dore telling snape he had to do something...i think dumbledore made snape swear to kill dd bcoz he knew tht draco wouldnt and if the dark lord found out tht dumbledore was dead then he would kill draco

what DD told Snape to go through with is merely a theory. Snape's personality and actions indicate that his actions where nothing but malicious toward DD. DD wouldn't gain anything by telling Snape to kill him and saving Draco was not dependant on DD dieing

He could fool the Dark Lord too.

I doubt Snape could fool Voldemort.

But DD wouldn't lose anything either. His time was coming. And as for Snape acting on his own will, that's a mere theory to. He could have been under control.

Doesn't mean a thing. Let's say for example, the Dark Lord put the Imperius Curse on Snape, do you really think Snape could break out of it? The Dark Lord knows more about the Dark Arts than Snape. I'm surprised he isn't dead right now, for not returning when the Dark Lord returned. I don't believe that he was working for the Dark Lord. No one could defy the Dark Lord and get away with it, now can they? Look what happened to Regulus. He tried to get out, or so Sirius thought anyway...

But why would Snape take the Unbreakable Vow?

And about Dumbledore's conversation with Snape--how would Dumbledore know that the school was to be attackedby Death Eaters, and all of that would happen with the horcrux potion, and it would come down to Snape killing him?

Saying Dumbledore had nothing to lose is ridiculous. For starters, he had his life to lose.

Although I am not saying that Snape being good is out of the picture completely, I am saying that it seems improbable. I mean, he killed Dumbledore... is there much more to say?

What I believe he was under orders by Dumbledore himself. Why didn't Snape kill Harry then? He just ran off. Nor did he put any jinxes on him, if he wasn't allowed to kill him. Dumbledore knew he was going to die. Why else did he show Harry a bout the Horcruxes, unless he knew he was going to die???

Snape cant kill Harry because of the Prophecy. "Either must die in the hands of the other." And if Snape could kill Harry, then Voldemort would kill Snape, because Voldemort would want to kill Harry.
