i'm sorry, but r u sure you read the fifth book??, remember when harry went into the pensive on his last occlumency lesson, he saw his father being crule to snape, he also saw snape call lily a mudblood... if he had liked her he would not be calling her such a vulgur name... muchless for paying enough attention to her, to the point of falling in love for her.... your theory is just highly unlike and is pushing the limit.... besides at the time he was a deatheater, and had not joined dumbledore and we all know that death eaters only think purebloods have worth.

😕 😕 🙁 🙁

You've obviously never been in love with someone who you'd consider "out of your league" i.e. too beautiful.

In book 6 Slughorn TOLD us that Lily was the best potion maker in her year, it's safe to assume that Snape and Lily shared a potions class as they appear to have been in the same year.
They were both good at potions...

OMFG!!!!

What did Hermione say about the HBP's writing??? It looks more like a girl's than a boys??? What if the notes in the HBP's potions book came from Lily and NOT Snape???

Why would Lilly have Snapes Book?

Safe assumption is that Lily and Snape were in the same year.
What if Snape wasn't the potions whiz kid he became. Quite possibly Lily tutored Snape and wrote notes in his book for him to use.
I think that it was during this time that Snape fell in love with Lily that was why he was so shocked at learning Voldemort was going after Lily and her child. James not so much, maybe not even Harry but Lily...???

I agree, most of the wizards in the HP series that are of memorable skill are noted as such and nobody in the books speak of Regulus in a spectacular light. He was a henchman at best. **some black guy**

besides, regulus wasnt personally killed by voldemort right? if he did something incredible against voldemort to incurr his wrath, wouldnt voldemort personally kill him as he did left and right to more important wizards during his dark reign.

also, theoretically speaking, wouldnt j.k. rowling know that most fans would speculate regulus as being r.a.b. when she included him(whoever he/she is) ? so its a slim possibility that sirius's brother IS r.a.b.

personally, I CANT WAIT TO READ BOOK 7!!!!!!!

**sighs** dont we all..

📖 📖 📖

RAB...hmm....it could be Regulus, but i think JKR already knows we think that and it's not gonna be him. i mean, look at the biggest speculations for HBP and it turned out to be an unlikely person. but i DO think the A is and, which would make it 2 ppl instead of one. i mean, whoever took it must've had some help just like Dumbledore needed help from Harry. i doubt it would be 3 because wasn't the boat kinda smallish?

Snape is NOT evil! When Dumbledore was saying to not do it, he meant "don't just stand there and let me live." and isn't it odd how there were some kinda....awquard silences between them? do u think they could've been talkin to eachother dumbledore telling snape to kill him through occlumecy... o.0 ...
dumbledore would most likely be dead anywayz even if Snape hadn't killed him because of the Potion. As much as Madam Promfey could help him, he would've died before she could get to him.

and i DO think that book was more belonging not to Snape and not to Lily, but both of them!!! even if it IS prince.

anywayz...that's just my thoughts & speculation on it.

PROFF R.A.B. IS POSITIVELY Regulus Arcturus Black

Spoiler:
In several foreign-language versions of the series, the surname Black has been translated into the respective language to correspond to the colour "black". In those cases, the 'B' in R.A.B. has been changed accordingly. For example, the Dutch edition uses the initials R.A.Z. in the locket note, and the Black family name is Zwarts, corresponding to "zvart". In the Norwegian edition, the note has R.A.S. (corresponding to the Svaart family or"svart"😉, and the Finnish edition has the letters R.A.M., (corresponding to the Musta family, or "musta"😉. In other editions where the Black family name is not translated to the local language, the initials remain "R.A.B.". For example, the Swedish translation uses the family name "Black", rather than translating it to the Swedish word for black "svart", and the initials remain "R.A.B.".

The fact that the initials R.A.B. correspond to the Black family name consistently across various language editions gives fair support to Regulus Black being R.A.B., or at least it supports a member of the Black family. There are, of course, other Black family members that could fit the identity of R.A.B. For example, Nymphadora Tonks's mother Andromeda, whose maiden name was Black, and whose given name is uncertain; there is also an Alphard Black (whose name was stricken from the Black Family Tree for giving support to the disowned Sirius Black).

I got this from Wikipedia:

Spoiler:

[edit] HP Lexicon's "leak"
Toward the end of the summer in 2005, The Harry Potter Lexicon reported that a "well-placed source" confirmed that R.A.B. stood for "Regulus Arcturus Black". Soon afterward, this was removed from the site, allegedly at the publisher's request. The founder of HP-Lexicon, Steve Vander Ark, made the following comment on another fan website, The Leaky Cauldron:

Obviously, Jo is the source of this information. When have you ever known me to post rumours as facts? It's from Jo. That doesn't mean she talked to me directly, of course, but I do know that it came from Jo. I honestly think that Jo figures she's already told us that it's Regulus. Read the Melissa/Emerson interview. I think she would be surprised that this is even an issue. I have asked permission to reveal who told me. If they say I can, I'll let you all know. Otherwise, feel free to take this with whatever grain of salt you need to.[11]
Steve
In MuggleCast Episode 7, Melissa Anelli reported that she had a good idea what the source was, but that she would not be much more specific out of respect for the HP-Lexicon's webmaster. However, she did somewhat defend the credibility of the source and hint at his/her identity with the following statement:

Well, I just want to address what people say, when they say how could it be anybody other than JK Rowling? It could very well be somebody other than JK Rowling. Clearly any information that is accurate about the books ultimately comes from JK Rowling, but many people are now involved making sure her books go around the world, go into different editions, go to the illustrators. You know what I mean? So different people need to see different things.

[edit] Portuguese Translator "Leak"
The translator of the Portuguese language editions of the Harry Potter books, Isabel Nunes, stated that she asked Rowling the sex of the character, so she could translate all references to "R.A.B." correctly. Nunes claims that Rowling told her the full identity of the character was "Regulus Arcturus Black."[12]. Rowling has not confirmed this revelation herself.

Can I ask you to put this in spoilers, or put "spoiler" in the title or something, if you post something like this in the future? I'm trying to be completely spoiler free for DH, and reading this kind of made me sad/mad.

goddess_susu, please, please PLEASE do not spoil the last book for everyone. Things like this should have the spoiler tag around them, like this:

[spoiler]Writer spoiler here[/*spoiler] <--- minus the *

Please do that from now on.

Some wierd ideas. R.A.B. cas stand for a nickname just like HalfBlooded Prince. Something like "really arrogant bastard"= R.A.B.

But the version with Regulus is the most popuar one. Another candidate (discussed on Russian Harry Potter fans boards) was Andromeda Black. All her sisters were famuss for something...and she is likely to continue the family tradition. Not only in her daughter. By the way, Andromeda being RAB gives us some reasons for why clumsy Tonks became Aurore. Revenge for mother seems a perfect reason.

Please do not post this stuff in the Harry Potter forum. it isn't needed. Keep it to the Spiderman forum. Do it again and your reportred.

I don't know. I believe (like the rest of the free world) that R.A.B. is Regulus, but it's just too obvious. I mean, I vividly remember reading the chapter where the note in the locket is shown and said to myself: RAB? Regulus something Black? It would be quite a shock or twist if it turns out to be like Borgin or something.

but Rowling never mentions someone like that and has it not come back to bite us in the behind.
For example- Ms. Figg
mentioned once then plays a bigger part later.

Sirius Black- mentioned once in COS, then major role in POA.

Belatrix- We learn she tortured the Longbottoms in GOF, then comes back in OOTP

and many many maaaaaany more
it's took close to the end for her to be introducing new characters so it has to be someone we already know.

Sirius was also mentioned in the first book.
