I hope Tite doesn't do that. That would be just as lame as Tousen being stabbed in the head by Hisagi just because he could see. Besides! Kira is still patching people up since Unohana is just staring off into space.

Wonder if Isshin will start using his shikai on Aizen now...but he's not having any problems at the moment so that might be a bit later.

But Gin most likely knows what Kira's shikai can do 131

Not going to disagree on Sajin. Even without the double-edged sword factor, it's still pretty lame.

Yeah, but ....Gin is kind of stuck swinging around a VERY large blade. It'd be pretty much impossible for Gin to keep Kira from striking Gin's sword. It's not as though Gin can hide his sword behind his back right before Kira's sword lands and say, "AHA!" 😆

i agree, bringing out a giant voodoo doll of yourself is probably the stupidest thing i've ever heard

It's still a powerful siege tool. The giant's tough, so has more defensive use than Gin's sword, and can protect friends. I can imagine it'd be great against an army of Menos Grande, smash them left and right and block hits for his allies.

What makes you think he needs bankai or even shikai against someone like Kira 313?

~ On a more serious note, I'm assuming he can retract and extend the blade at will, just as in shikai. After all, all he says is that his bankai can reach 13 km, not that it becomes or stays 13 km long when in bankai mode.

And, I think Gin's Bankai is pretty cool. It apparently has some sort of uber uber cutting power because Gin was shocked Ichigo's sword could stand up to Gin's Bankai...so I assume that most captain levels swords' would be cut right through by Gin's sword. However, Ichigo is supposed to be double that of an average captain...and Ichigo's resolve/focus is supposed to be legendary already among captains...as just his Shikai resisted the attack power of a million Zanpakutou without getting damaged.

I agree, it's not unreasonable that Ichigo could block it with Bankai alone. He just seems weak in Bankai because Kubo got all stupid when he decided he wanted Ichigo to be below most Espada, but at the same time have the Espada be below most captains. It screwed up the power scaling.

To add to that, Kubo was probably thinking of a penis when he designed Gin's shikai and bankai 😐. Gin even shoots it.

Probably Kenpachi level. He was shown cutting through buildings in what seemed like an instant; shows the speed of the extension and swing.
I don't think he'd cut through most of Captains' swords though. He could pierce through their swords if he 'shot' it most likely.

Also, don't get me wrong, while it was impressive, that whole Ichigo stopping Soukyoku with Shikai was full of PIS(S) IMO.

Pretty much my beef with Ichigo blocking it.

He should have just had Ichigo fight the higher Espada while the captains fought the lower ones. Then everything would have made sense.

It is literally, the biggest single PIS event in Bleach. Second was making Grimmjow #6 OR, making Grimmjow a good match for Ichigo. Either way, it was PIS.

Meanwhile, his supposed superior Harribel got solod by Toshiro, someone definitively below Ichigo judging from Soul Society Arc, and the #1 loses to Shikai.
