"What's going to happen next... well, these characters want X, so I can count on the hogyoku doing it at some point."

Predicting the outcome of things is a whole lot easier when you know your targets are using a cheat code to get them what they want, but don't know they're doing so. It eliminated a lot of the chance in predictions.

Yeah... except, lots of the stuff he predicted happened while he was the one with the hogyoku.

But at that point he was able to directly decide the opponents in a more conventional way. I think Ichigo and the others might still have residual hogyoku effect too... or even, Aizen was using the hogyoku to help them out.

Their performances did drop once Rukia lost it, I'll note. Post-SS, Ichigo suffered a string of losses, until he got to Hueco Mundo where the hogyoku is located.

Interesting theory; tying his determination to the powers of the Hogyoku.

Hmm... THAT'S an interesting reason to explain why even as a vizard he seems weaker than captains now... he never really was stronger than them to begin with.

However, one thing we can rule out was Aizen using the hogyoku to empower them. Since Aizen says that it's only now that the Hogyoku is starting to recognize his wishes.

I guess another way to say it is with the hogyoku woken up, Aizen has Shounen Protagonist power now!

No, not even the greatest of plot devices can mimic that.

I hope to see Ichigo kick some ass soon. The last time he won a battle was against Ulquiorra an it wasent really him fighting. Plus his strength bothers me. Hes sapossed to be around higher captain level i beleve with his old mask but with his new one he couldent do much against Aizen. Which Aizen stated he had grown it power again but we have yet to see a good display of it outside of the little skirmish he had with Aizen. I'm not saying Ichigo should have been close to equal to him but should of been a slight challenge.

out of all the lieutenants who do you guys think is the strongest?

massive sized cause im an attention whore

Ikkaku. He was first in line for the the captains job for a reason imo. Either him or Renji or Rukia. Renji's also got Bankai but Rukias shikai is pretty haxxed.

Renji

Yea, those are the three main contenders. The other two have more raw power, but the variety of moves help Rukia a lot, that and her kido skills. She has a better kill sheet than the other two combined (Killed an espada barely, beat the heck out of Rubodon, and got two one-shot kills in there. Ikkaku's one-win one-loss against numenos, and his win wasn't easy, and Renji's got one arrancar kill period).

Renji is the strongest if he fights like he did against Ichigo and Byakuya, not like how he fought against any arrancar he's ever fought.

See I didn't understand that. Renji came running to Ikkaku saying "You HAVE to become a captain because you have Bankai!", but he also has bankai and didn't seem like he even considered being a captain.

ikkaku's bankai sucks though... i dunno it just really failed to impress me. it seems like even certain people's shikai could out do it.

He is a lot more fresh, having not been a lieutenant as long.

Still, his bankai doesn't need a charge bar. I'd guess fulled charged Ikakku would beat him but Renji can jump strait to full.

Ikkaku isn't even a Lieutenant. 😐 Yachiru's the Lieutenant of the 11th Division, not Ikkaku. Why else do you think Ikkaku was able to beat the Arrancar he fought against in Karakura long before everyone else did? He was never under the limit.

Renji, as far as we've seen. Only one to have obtained Bankai.

Rukia's shikai does have l33t & broken abilities though.

Omaeda is fast, but his shikai is Laem.

Kira's shikai is awesome 313, but it isn't of much use against a Shikai like that of Byakuya's or Rangiku's.

Speaking of Rangiku, bewbs, that's all she's good for. Her shikai is a poor man's Senbonzakura

Hinamori is only good at Kido.

Hisagi took out Tousen biscuits

Tetsuzaemon, meh. He's Ikkaku's senior, so might be better than Ikkaku when it comes to sword-fighting.

On a side note, Ikkaku is afraid of Yachiru. Yachiru stronger than bald-boy 131?

yachiru is captain level.

you heard it here first. >\

Attenshun hoe speaks the truth.

Oh yea, Yachiru! She might be super-uber.

If she's in the spot because she actually is more powerful than Ikkaku then she'd be the top.

Senbonzakura's style makes for a pretty sweet shikai, though. So that's still good IMO.

My theory is Urahara knew this the whole time, downplayed it, and is going to pull and "Aizen" on Aizen. That means, he's going to reveal how HE was actually the one manipulating everything the whole time and it was just a trick to get Aizen to make his move, so he could prove it or something. Which, would make Urahara even cooler, imo.

Ohhhh that would be awesome! 😉

And Gin being his pawn the whole time. heh heh.
