I kinda think Ichigo getting his eyes sliced up is something new personally.
That was actually the only good part of the chapter. But, it's just a re-hashed version of "Ichigo must train to get stronger to defeat his enemies" system that we have seen in the following circumstances:
1. Ichigo when he first got his Shinigami powers and Rukia lost all of hers. He had to learn about his powers and slowing gain better control over them.
2. Ichigo after he lost his powers. He had to "train" to get them back.
3. Ichigo after he got his powers back and had to go back to Soul Society: he had to train to get better with them.
4. Ichigo after he had to train to unlock his Bankai.
5. Ichigo after he had to train to get control of his Hollow powers.
6. Ichigo after he had to train to get his Final GS forum to beat Aizen.
Granted, 2 and 3 are part of the same "montage."
Also, granted, it's much cooler than Ichigo is being brutalized as part of this training. It goes to show that his character is much more badass because his "real" body is the one taking the damage. I just see it as more of the same.
Its kind of wierd how Ichigo isn't writhing around in pain from getting his eyes cut out. You'd think that would be a thing that would happen since I imagine that would be really fvcking excruciating.
It's good to see Ichigos dumbassness being a plot point. Any competent person could have seen through such a transparent ruse, but not him! Thats the Ichigo we know and loathe love! 👆
But yeah, chater wasn't too bad I guess. A complete rehash of him traing with Urahara as dadudeman pointed out, (it even had the white stuff pouring out of his chest as well as his trainer actually attacking him with intent to maim) but whatever.

He's quite used to getting mutilated to near death many times over.

Lulz. But Ichigo was already supsicious of Ginjou. Kubo at least established that. But, after Ginjou saved his sorry *ss...he should have just settled down. It was kind of weak.

Well, at least Kubo isn't straying from his "style", right? 😆

I don't know what you're talking about.

IMO, it harkens back to his unique situation of having Shinigami and Hollow powers, but I'm just being a douche when I say he looks like a Zebra now.
Originally posted by TheAuraAngelI dunno, it could turn out Aizen was a good guy all along. Which is something I very much see happening.
How would it do that? 😮Oh, and I don't trust them there Xcution gais.
I actually kinda like Riruka and Ginjo. Admittedly Ginjo won bonus points from me for beating the shit out of Ichigo.

I don't see how that would be workable actually. 😮
I like them. I just don't trust them.
Personally, I like the kid with teh PSP. And that Father time guy. Quite possibly the most haxxed power ever. 😮

Because apparently the Spirit King is a giant chode, which is why Aizen chose to try to supplant him, because he is not a loser.I dunno, they seem fairly trustworthy to me.
The Father Time guy looks like King Bradley. That does get him bonus points.
Whatever the intent, he certainly went about it the wrong way. Not that he killed anyone except for some fat human guy.
They come out of nowhere and offer to return his powers along with giving him their own...Why? 😮
And PSP!

That's what people speculated when he got mad and jelly at Urahara for serving the Soul King.
However, it's just not supportable with all of the evil, self-absorbed, stupidty that Aizen spewed. There's no way what he was doing wasn't for selfish reasons. He wanted to become the strongest, replace the Soul King with himself, and rule over all. That's fairly typical of a bad guy.

🙂
This is the same guy who made Mayuri, a character who was arguably more monstrous and evil than Aizen, into comic-relief.
Aizen himself is pretty monstrous, so I COULD see it being argued.
Aizen is easily in top four most evul... Unless he turns out to be a good guy. 😐
Most evil IMO are Mayuri, Aizen, Szayel, and that one Hollow early on, Shrieker (The one who tormented the bird who was really a dead kid). Grand Fisher is sorta up thar too.

Mayuri only directs his "evil" at things of science and discovery in support of Soul Society. Sure, he's allowed side-projects, but he doesn't do experiements on anything that were not enemies of Soul Society.
Examples:
Hollows - Apex evil to SS.
Quincy - Relegated to evil and destroyed by SS.
So, really, he's not that evil: he's just a Nazi scientist given permission to do his expirements on the enemies of the state.
Also, you're right: Kubo will probably take a dump on everything he writes because he's a mediocre story writer.
