Gin is stronger than Byakuya, almost certainly.

Kenpachi and Byakuya are obviously of comparable strength.

Kenpachi did as much damage to Yammy with his power sealed as Byakuya did with his Bankai. 131

You COULD assume both Kenpachi and Byakuya got stronger but... It's probably just Kubo bullshittery.

Frankly I don't think Kenpachi is a joke either, but the dude does screw around. If any captain is a joke, it's probably Kaname or Mayuri, and Mayuri is a sadistic bastard.

His bankai is pretty haxxed. Essentially one scratch is deadly. Shunsui has to deal with a ***** sword.

Gin would beat the ever living shit out of Captain Shota. Unless he goes asspull and creates an ice clone that can somehow talk and bleed again.

He'd also beat Byakuya and probably a few others above him imo.

Not to mention, Kenpachi actually did beat Tousen.

The problem with the list is that it was released short after the Rukia retrieval arc and is rather old.

It's also a good speed feat as well. He ties up Kenpachi and drags him ten or so meters away, all before Byakuya & Kenpachi can react.
I never did say I thought Kenpachi was stronger than Byakuya. I think otherwise actually. 😛

Don't forget that Shunsui has a pretty hax Shikai, and we haven't seen his Bankai. Though admittedly, Gin would probably see through the Shikai's games. Plus his bankai could be Mach 500 awesome

Plus even by then, Kenpachi beat Tousen, and was demonstratably superior to Komamura, who is IMHO probably the weakest captain, if overall one of the more endurant ones.

The stats are also weird. Gives Yamamoto a relatively low rating in physical strength, lower than Aizen, even though we see Yamamoto crush Aizen's arm with one hand while Yama was weakened.

This chapter was good. Hope Kubo can keep up this momentum.

Tsukishima's already got me and Ichigo more emotionally involved in this fight than fvckin' Aizen ever did. This is good stuff.

gotta agree with you Nepthys. Ichigo is certainly less inhibited in this arc than in any other arcs where he would just try to take his opponents down without resorting to killing them. just goes to show that when one's family and friends are threatened/manipulated in such ways that some inhibitions go out the window.

Well looks like he can keep up the momentum. Another class chapter. This arc has surprised me, I'll admit.

Bleach being the best of the current trio just feels odd though.

It hasn't gotten that good yet.

One Piece sucks right now and Naruto wasn't as good these last few chapters. Ichigo isn't pissing me off as much as Naruto is and it doesn't feel like 'filler' the way current Naruto chapters do.

Why do the current chapters feel like filler? mmm

It feels like they're fighting the mini-bosses while waiting for the big bads Madara and Kabutomaru to get off their asses and attack.

No, but as you said, we are currently at the 'build up' stage of the manga, as opposed to the much more engaging confrontation part that Bleach is at. The build up is necessary, but still not the most important or interesting part of the story. Just replace the word 'filler' with 'build up parts' and you've got the same thing.

Plus I actually give a shit about whats happening with Bleach. Naruto not so much. Narutos in no danger, and neither are any side characters as of yet. Hell, at the moment, no one on the Shinobi side has died or even been that injured yet. Bleach just has more dramatic tension to it at the moment. Serious shit is going down right now. Main plot shit. Narutos on side character shit.
