Huh, where did you get your timeframe from?
Ginjo is not much older than Ichigo so he can't have been an SS very far behind the start of the series.
Ginjo looks to be between 18-30. 24 seems about right.
However, we could be in for a surprise and Ginjo is immortal and he's actually hundreds of years old. 😐

Because... Three years isn't that long by Shinigami standards.

Yes, he did say "a very long time before you appeared" he was the first substitute shinigami.
So how did Ichigo see Ginjo if it was as long as you're implying? (He would have been invisible.)
Undetectable Gigai are an invention of Urahara.
So we are left with it meaning "a long time ago" based on Ichigo's perception, not a shinigami's perceptions.
Uh...well its good to see that Kubo still draws pointless art that could insteadbe used to cover important information.
Oh...and Ginjo's predicament doesn't make much sense at all considering he's a human and stuff. And BTW I wonder if Ginjo is actually going to use his powers now.
And it was nice to see that the dramatic buildup behind Ichigo's Getsuga Tensho was rendered moot.

How do we know Ginjo is dead? He could Kubo out some bullshit in the next chapter. This isn't the first time we've seen a villain with that wide-eyed "I'm ****ed" look, only to trololo in the next chapter.

I agree.
He can't get around the "Urahara invented the undetectable gigai" body.
Since Ginjou is a SS, that means he has to be "alive" and a mortal. Being alive and mortal means that his body is most likely as old as it looks.
That means that the "long time ago" statement is as exactly as you indicated, Nemebro: it's definitely going to be a plot-hole because it is far more likely that it means hundreds of years ago.
Also, Ginjo cannot be from Kakura Town: that town was locked down and put to sleep in the last arc. Ginjo would have been a threat and quite easily detected. He probably came from somewhere else.
It will be hilarious if Ginjo turns out to be Aizen's mentor and the REAL man behind everything. bwahahahahaahahahadsfkajsdl;kasjd;flkajsd;lkfjas;dlkf
At least that version explains why Ginjo is immortal or doesn't seem to age (he has to fit that "really long time ago" statement).
Just brought Tensa Zangetsu! 68 inch stainless steel Bankai.

Wait a minute. Ginjo has Ichigo's powers! He'll probably use them to fight on even ground. Still no tension but it at least makes him more of a threat than I was giving him credit.

Has anyone noticed that SS has once again dumped their problems on Ichigo. I reread the chapter and I noticed that they wanted to give Ichigo's powers back as a thank you and a hidden assignment that required him taking out Ginjo.
SS is pretty damn lazy nowadays leaving their grunt work to someone who doesn't really care for their crap.

It's highly possible that they realize that full powered Ichigo is the only one strong enough to take out Ginjo. Ginjo may have aborbed multiple people's powers so they needed to supercharge Ichigo back to where he was when he fought Aizen...instead of having him slowly build his power up to that point.
Also....Ichigo is the main character as "Bleach" supposedly refers to his hair and ALSO to the soul burial.
Apparently so, which is why it's all the more reasn for people to think that the fullbringers suck. Also were they his by Tsukishima like Ginjo was so they could act like Ichigo's friends?
Oh and another example of nobody telling Ichigo shit and then calling him clueless latter on as if it's his fault. Good to know.
Heheheheh.....Kisuske=pedophile?? He did go after Orihime and all.
