The guy hulks out and gets taken down in a second part. Because ****, teh last thing we want is the tension that was so effective earlier to creep back in. No what we want is more of the 'fan favourite characters' effortlessly slicing through villians and standing around posing for the camera and acting all 'badass'.
I mean remember how aaaaaaaaaawesome it was when the previous Hulk-ripoff got taken out by Kenpachi? oh no wait that was ****ing retarded 😐
What was frustrating especially was how vide-game boy kept refusing to get the same treatment ealier in teh chapter and I was legitimately impressed and thought Kubo was learning. Nah. Well, we'll see next week I guess.
I think Kenpachi is now one of the characters that I hate in Bleach.

Maybe Kubo is telling us he doesn't like the Hulk? Either that or Kubo was trying to show us some sort of upgraded strength which is rendered moot because Kenpachi was already stronger than all of them.
The video game dude is pretty annoying but he's the closest thing to tension that these fights will probably get. Unless he completely forgets his hax powers for something stupid he got from Ichigo.

Hey, this reminding anyone else of Fishman Island over at One Piece? Where the heroes are confronted by enemies who are in no way a match for them and they even outnumber the significant enemies? And where the enemies even get an upgrade partway through (Hodi's pills, Ichigo's stolen fullbring) and it still feels like they're outmatched?
Well, I think the pairings for the fights were based on design more than anything. Kid vs Kid, douche vs douche, worthless vs worthless, possible love interest vs possible love interest. Byakuya and Tsukishima are smug vs smug. Though Kenpachi vs Father Time makes no freaking sense.

I'd think the kid would be the strongest. Out of that group anyway. Ginjo and Tsukishima are stronger than all of 'em.
Which, ironically, is the opposite of how Naruto handled it. 4 Kage vs an entire division and 2 Kage. Not only did the audience know they were screwed, but it was proven right. 😛

Rukia vs Riruko(sp). Weak love interest but she has expressed physical attraction to Ichigo. Though I'd think Bunny girl vs Bunny girl would have been better.

Indeed. Though, if any good guys died, Kabuto could revive them. Which would be an awesome twist, if, say, Guy died.
At the moment Luffy and the Straw Hats have yet to be really challenged at all.
It took the main villain getting a power-up as well as being underwater (The villain is a Fishman, who are "ten times stronger" underwater) just to beat Zoro off-screen, and Zoro didn't seem to be in too bad a shape.
Luffy then proceeded to crush the villain when they fought, after his power-up.

I actually quite liked Kenpachi's "slice the talker in half" gag. That was completely in character for him. That's also EXACTLY what Ichigo should have done to the other characters...instead of that stupid video game "twist".

Because I see it as Kubo pretty much ruining the whole thing as soon as he got his powers back. There should not exist even an iota of tension, at this point. Ichigo, at that point, should be so fast that he can pull off a Trunks and take out 30 people in what appears as an instant.
So if you rage, rage at Kubo. I saw the arch as being over a long time ago. Kubo is just stretching it out at this point. It was good..but now it feels forced.
