Rukia is pretty awesome- she does manage to rather consistently win her fights.

Byakuya vs 'Cool Guy' is one I could see not being one-shot.

Maybe if Stupid Kid got an amp like everyone else he'd have a chance, his power ignore strength levels the most. But no amp so he's screwed.

Also, you left out Ice Kid vs Video Gamer, one that's another possible not-one-shot.

Except for her first fight. Which was weird. But Aizen apparently that specific Hollow.

It will be once the shot hits. 😛

I know? I'd like for him and Ikkaku to kill each other.

I did. That one might be okay. Since Video Gamer is roughly the strongest, excluding the big bads.

Why is Ikkaku acting like punching a ****ing tree in half is some big deal?

And if the kid is so weak that he shouldn't even be able to punch in half a ****ing wooden sword, how was he fast enough to get behind Ikkaku and punch him?

I was actually confused about that too.

To be fair, her fight with the ninth Espada also relied on him being a complete ****ing idiot.

I think it's a combination of 'getting stronger when fighting strong foes,' and 'having an intense reason to need it, rather than just a desire.'

Renji was working on his bankai for some time pre-series apparently, and he did achieve it during the SS arc.

And those years of training are why they're both two of the stronger Lt level people. Rukia's impressively strong but I don't think any of her improvement was during the series, so that was all from her old training probably.

I figure his love for Rukia is more than enough motivation to train hard.

It took him 10 years to master his Bankai...and at that, Byakuya said that he still had not mastered it when he used it in their fight.

I have no idea what you're talking about on the last part: she was held back for years by Byakuya because he feared losing her. She was a 5th seat...but most likely closer to a 3rd of 2nd seat in ability. She is not lieutenant level, however. (She may be, now)

So much bullshit pis, I was mad watching that fight.

Her fight with the 9th Espada was actually arguably one of the best of the Espada battles. Certainly more intelligent than the others. Aaroniro didn't seem very bright anyway so I can't say I think it was very PIS heavy.

Besides, it led me to the logical conclusion of how the Shinigami should beat the Espada: Through intelligence, not pure power. Ichigo gets excluded for being a Vizord.

Needless to say, that went out the window pretty quickly.

Well Aaroniero did have the advantage in pretty much everything on Rukia. True Aaroniero was almost as bad as Zomari but I kind of liked him. Besides how was he supposed to know she could stay conscious after being impaled by a trident.

What about the other vizards that sucked horribly barring Hachi and Shinji.

Yes...yes it did.

Exactly. He outclassed her in every real way. Her only option was to outsmart him. And it doubles as a call back to earlier on. A Hollow's weak spot is the head, which is what she attacked. It might have been a last ditch effort on her part, but it was cool(lol ice pun) and calculated.

Well they didn't really do much to the Espada anyway. Hachi technically outsmarted Barragan but since that was such an ass pull, I don't care about that.

Which sucked. Considering the buildup.

Meh...I guess. But her 3rd Dance was a bit of an asspull since it can't really be used efficiently in battle. At least Rukia and Byakuya finally have something to talk about. Killing Espada too dumb to one-shot them 😄

Lisa and Hiyori managed to make Toshiro look cool(WTH), Love and Rose were fodder so that Kyouraku could use a counter attack, Kensei and Mashiro sucked...but Shinji did......nevermind.

Edit: If all the espada were vasto lorde, said event could've happened.

Not really. It was used to lengthen her sword. That can be fairly useful in combat. And Aaroniro did actually think he killed so I can't say he didn't try to one shot her. Zomari however has no excuse.

But he pretty much had already handled the fight.

Edit: Which confuses the crap out of me. When did they start becoming Vasto Lords?

Really...I though it only repaired a broken blade...which all zanpakuto's can auto-repair themselves. just not in mid-combat. No he did not but Aaronieri could've killed Rukia the momment after he revealed his Kaien face.

Which makes Lisa and Hiyori all the more lame. Granted Halibel could've just spammed cero once water attacks weren't working.

Only the top 4 were vasto I believe.

Aaroniero only lost because he was laughing like an idiot when he impaled her and never thought to use his alleged million Hollow abilities.

Had he not acted like a dumbass Rukia would be beyond dead.

"Outsmarting" someone with the equivelant intellect of a urinal isn't actually a good feat.

Aaroniero's more of a garden hose....those have IQs according to Billy and Mandy 😄. Now Zomari would be a urinel.

Well a lot of people wouldn't expect someone to stay conscious after being impaled...in his defense.

This is Bleach.

That happens all the time in the Bleach-verse.

"OH GOD HE SLICD MY JUGGULAR. IF I DON'T GET MEDICAL ATTENTION WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR I'M A DEAD MAN"

But Gin died almost right away from, compared to others, superficial wounds.

It's not even sufficient medical treatment though. Kira did the equivalent of putting a band-aid on Rangiku after she lost a lung.

Thats becuase he was a baddy. Only heroes can survive anything in Bleach.

Kaien was sort of a good guy that died. Plus missing lungs, hearts, impalement, and being cut in half shouldn't really be wounds to live through w/o regen of some sort.....or Orihime.

It was thousands apparently. 350 thousand or so I think. And why would he need to? He had her dead to rights. He didn't think he'd need to use another attack.

He did kill her. Or so he thought. The only reason he mentioned his abilities was because he was boasting. He didn't actually need them so he never bothered using them.

It is not meant to be a real feat though. It is meant to be an answer to how they solve the whole, "Beat these guys even though they should be stronger than us thing". Rukia did outsmart him by attacking his weak spot. But, she nearly died in the process, which wouldn't have been preferable. So, even though it was "smart" given the situation, she didn't really battle intelligently. Except for the whole making sunlight crap to weaken him but whatever.
