Yea, but theirs is pretty much just, "Don't call for backup, be serious about fighting."

For most of Soul Society, it was "follow real stupid orders to execute Rukia."

Also, everyone else uses horrible tactics, at least the 11th have a reason for it.

You also forgot the part where they will not use their best skills, even if the world is at stake. They'd rather die than smudge their honor. Which doesn't make any logical sense to me.

I recall a few of the Soul Society planning to save her. Ukitake, Shinsui, Hitsugaya to be exact. I'm curious what Tosen and Gin would have done though, had circumstances been different.

Eh...not really. There are those who fight fairly intelligently(for Bleach standards anyway). Hitsugaya and Ukitake come to mind. Kira and Rangiku do too, to an extent. Rukia isn't so bad when it comes to intelligence. And then there is Mayuri. 😛

Yes, that! Kenpachi'll go two-handed much easier than some of the captains'll use their bankais (and we know why he holds back- more fun that way). And Ichigo's decision to try to take out Byakuya with shikai first before unleashing his bankai was, needless to say, super-odd when Rukia's on the line.

I don't even see how it's a smirch on honor to use them.

Hitsugaya more stumbled onto it thanks to following Momo. Ukitake and Shinsui, yes. They were the only two to do so without prompting.

But, say, Old Man Yamamoto? He was still actively fighting them when he had the authority to stop it. Byakuya put honor above sense way too long too.

And Renji... sheesh, why'd he have to be beat up by Ichigo before changing sides?

Yea, those are pretty good, but I'd knock off Ukitake for not using his bankai in the big fight.

My internet glasses must be fogging up because I think you used Hitsugaya to justify battle intelligence.
Gin outsmarted him easily while screwing around, and you think Gin is stupid, so this is really hard to believe. The most intelligent thing Hitsugaya's done in battle is creating an Ice-Clone, which really is fairly intelligent, but any one with a brain and that ability would have used it against a top-level Espada's released form.

Also, you forgot Uryu. I'll never forgive you for this. uhuh

So unless you have a better explanation for why Renji can vastly eclipse his training/power increase in only 17 months where it took him literally decades to get to his previous point, I'm all ears.

He started communicating with his sword more effectively with Jinzen in the Dangai, is one plausible explanation.

And Ichigo never got his ginormous boost solely due to his vast supply of Reiryoku, he also got it due to his ability to learn quickly, the FGT, and the merger of Tensa Zangetsu and Hollow Ichigo in H2 form.

His fight with Lupi(sp?) consisting of him waiting for the exact moment where he had enough ice to completely pwn him like nothing. And with Gin(and Aizen) he was in a more beserk mode. 😛

He is not a shinigami loser. 😛

But I mean, even Kenpachi will go all out if it seems like he might die. Ikkaku would rather die than show off. Yumichika is also a horrible role model. Being yourself? Screw that! Confromity FTW!

I actually would argue it hurts their honor. They're dishonoring themselves by not going all out and dishonoring the Gotei 13 by appearing to prefer honor over duty.

Still counting it. 😛

Yamamoto doesn't change his mind. He doesn't care.

Because Renji is a worthless character that was only there so he could be beaten up by better fighters(and characters) and his motivation for the things he has done was completely half assed and thrown together so Rukia can have a alternative love interest from Ichigo? The fact that people like Renji annoys me. I don't hate him. I simply don't acknowledge him as worth my time.

Well for Ukitake, his shikai is the smart one. Reflecting attacks back? That is pretty clever. ^^

At least with Ikkaku, it has to do with his life's goal.

Why don't the captains use bankai against Starrk or Aizen?

They're afraid he might bust out his Bankai in response.

That's not as smart as him being prepped for an attack by Tia, and it isn't smarter than say, Omaeda fooling that Elephant Arrancar.
Against Aizen yeah. Not Gin though.

True. Still, you never mentioned him and I think you were talking about all characters. uhuh

Never stopped the Shinigamai from doing something stupid before. Plus Starrk's aim was horrible so they really didn't have anything to woory about.

The attack on Tia wasn't really prep since he didn't step out the battle like he did against Luppi. Lieutenants shouldn't be acknowledged as relevant but whatever. Toshiro was still pissed when confronting Gin though

Please, his aim was good. He just happened to be shooting at a person that could dodge point-blank Ceros, and another person that could send them back faster than he could fire them.

Wouldn't say he was pissed off to the point he lost all his intelligence, like he did against Aizen. He managed to pull off a deceptive move. Just so happened that Gin was smarter than him.

His life goal is to serve under Kenpachi right? Does Kenpachi even like him? o.O

Simple: Gotta save 'em for later. Story reasons more than anything I guess.

We never did get to see his huh?

But it is smart nonetheless. And I dunno, he seemed pretty mad.

I was only talking about the Shinigami, specifically the good guys. We're I to include the others, Ishida and Aizen would certainly be on the list. With others.

Yeah, we didn't. Or maybe he doesn't really have a Bankai, like Zaraki, and has everyone else believing that he does. vin

Didn't say it wasn't smart, just that it wasn't very smart. Well he wasn't berserk, and he didn't go Bankai right off the bat like he does when pissed. 😛

Screw the Shinigami. For that matter, Mayuri's a good guy? ha-son
Ishida, Aizen, Szayel & Gin should be on a new list of intelligent characters. 😛

He shot thousands of cero like a machine gun and missed almost every single one. He did hit the vizard...which I covered in one post or another about them sucking.

But Aizen would've had to show a fake bankai to the Gotei right?

Uryu did seem more annoyed than hate filled when Mayuri saved his life.
I guess he forgave him for making his grandpa barely recognizible.

He missed most of his Ceros because his target dodged, a target that happened to be a Cero-Timing Captain.

He's capable of that. Or he could have automatically been given the spot after Hirako was taken away from SS.

I guess. Or he was okay with Mayuri because a few months earlier, he kicked his ass and sent him packing with his tail between his legs, and Nemu thanked him for sparing him.

He has one. We'll see it soon enough.

Smart for Bleach standards. And so? Gin hadn't "killed" Momo like Aizen had. Wasn't as mad. 😛

Si.
Pfft. Gin is the odd man out there.

I find it a bit silly that Uryu has possibly forgiven Mayuri for killing that unfortunate old man through experimentation. I mean really, if someone can forgive a mad scientist for mutilating their grandfather, imagine what the other characters could forgive people for.

Ichigo: Grandfisher even though you murdered my mother and devoured her soul, I think you're all right and we should just let the past be the past okay?

No, that cannot happen! When somebody murders someone's relative, he should be forever hating them, not play comedy routines and forget nothing bad happened. The dude killed someone he really cared about.

I hope so.

Meh, Aizen kind of is super smart by Bleach standards then. Exactly. So he wasn't really berserk, and was thinking more or less clearly, as shown by how he tried to deceive Gin.

U SHUR?
You're right. He's almost as smart as those 3, and he didn't end up getting punked, instead losing out due to PIS. 😛

Of course, evil genius.

He was berserk. And the whole sneak up on your opponent isn't exactly that smart. 😛

Indeed.
lol no. And he got punked worst of all so I don't know what you mean.

Well, he makes most evil genii seem like cute kids.

Nah, that ^ is what happens when he is berserk. He was just mad in the scan you posted.
Smarter than pinning you victory on the hope that the atmosphere will gain enough water for you to win. :3

I think you are tired.
Lol nah. Szayel and Aizen got punked in ways that literally made me laugh. Gin got beaten due to the magic of ass-pull. Of course, he outsmarted a gai you think is smart, so...vin

Aizen was a bigger threat. Of course you gotta go bankai against him. That and it was two on one.

Like every ice based hero ever? 😮

A bit.
What happened to Szayel was far more of an ass pull. Aizen on the other hand, well, he didn't really lose. Gin got beaten because he lacked common sense. When did he outsmart Hitsugaya, who had him dead to rights?

He also went Bankai when it was 5 on 1, in Hitsugaya's favour. Berserk = Bankai.

Not Rukia 313

You have to be, as I doubt someone like Mayuri is a good gai.

Hogyoku warping back to a place it was taken from >>> Ingesting chemicals in an artificial body.
Aizen did. Ironically, due to his overconfidence and lack of caution. There's the lulz.
Or he got beaten because he didn't think an inanimate object would warp back to a previous wielder.
Hitsugaya had him dead to rights? That's not what I see here. http://www.mangafox.com/manga/bleach/v16/c132/12.html
Thanks to Matsumoto, we didn't get to see Hitsugaya going berserk.

In all fairness, pretty awesome dodging feat from Hitsugaya mmm.
