huh, sure wasn't expectin Ginjo to say something like that. granted, I expected him to say that soul society was the enemy, but not in that sort of way. I suppose it does make some sense, but there's still plenty more that Ginjo could probably explain.

Didn't we already KNOW that about the badge? We know it kept tabs on Ichigo.

We already knew the badge only made a sound that the Sub Shin could hear. We already knew it could detect spiritual pressure.

It obviously would have the ability to detect the Sub Shin...especially someone of Ichigo's immense Spirit Power. So why should any of the revelation of "Well...the badge also acts like a tracking device" be new to anyone with half a brain? Ichigo was supposed to be among the smartest in his class and he was a deliquent. He has shown keen observation multiple times to support his brains. So why is this new revelation supposed to shock Ichigo?

The badge is a sign of trust. Two way trust. The Sub Shin trusts SS and SS trusts the Sub Shin. Ichigo can contact SS and SS can track and contact Ichigo through his badge. ZOMG!

What this boils down to: a cop car with GPS on it. That's it. No big deal here....move along. Why would Ichigo be upset about it? There's no big conspiracy ESPECIALLY since SS seems to have contacted Ichigo in that past (after earning Sub Shin status).

I just read the "Unmasked" piece featured in a databook I think. Just wondering if anyone else readit because it was news to me when I found it out?

The limiter did not seem to be in effect, at all. He reached his strongest in "real Kakura town" against Aizen. Rather, the real world.

Even if he was limited, real Shinigami are limited to a fifth of their power on almost every circumstance in the real world. So why would not Ichigo be limited, as well? Should the captains be "mad bro" too?

Basically, the premise of "negative" is this:

Ichigo is supposed to be mad because he was marginally limited (and that's questionable) and is tracked via the badge.

What does the badge do for him?

1. It allows him to contact SS and for SS to contact him.
2. It tracks spiritual pressure of beings around him (including his own...this is a positive).
3. It notifies him and only him when there is hollow danger via a whistle (neato).
4. It allows Ichigo to knock his soul out of his body to do his thang.

Neither positive nor negative attribute of the badge: everyone knows, who is someone, what the badge does and represents.

Lower Shinigami do not know what the badge is for or represents...so it does not matter, actually, that Afro Shinigami did not know about it. He's s weak nobody as far as the military power of SS is concerned. If a lower level shinigami did not know about the badge (why would they)...they or Ichigo can quickly call SS: Ichigo with his badge and Afro through his own communicator.

So Ichigo not caring about Ginjo's statements makes sense. Ginjo's point is invalid. We knew all but the "limiter" and the idea of a "limiter" is in question, to begin with.

Yea, I wouldn't find this 'horribly shocking' or dismaying or what have you.

Sure, it has security features... which are mostly helpful. Then it also has directly helpful features that I need in some form, like leaving my body on my own.

I think its more that they didn't tell him about it. They were spying on him and limiting his power without his knowledge. I'd be pretty pissed myself.

It's probably the word choice.

"You were given your badge solely to control you."

"A device to absorb, analyze, and control your reiatsu."

The idea of someone "controlling" you and "suppressing" you would make someone like Ichigo mad. 😮

Considering that the entirety of last arc's conflict revolved Soul Society getting its shit pushed in by a rogue shinigami (Aizen), the necessity of closely keeping tabs on its members should be obvious to Ichigo.
