Weven when 20 new borns were sent to attack the Cullen Clan, the Cullen clan got backup from the Werewolves. Additionally, they had a newborn killing specialist among them that trained them all. They did get injuries: Jacob and Seth. Edward almost died if it weren't for Bella's last minute blood letting (close call). So it is not as though there is opposition.

A story does not always have to be about who dies.

When the Volturi came to destroy the Cullen clan, it was Bella's protectie shield that prevented the masacre. Something she worked on creating for ages and ages (but didn't finish until there was a very real threat to her loved ones). Even so, amen.

Not getting into a debate about Twilight, but lol at you referencing Bella's protective shield that she had since the beginning of the series and was never actually explained.

The story for Twilight is generally quite good. It is the prose and the dialogue that are bad.

I...can't agree with this. The prose and dialogue is bad. The story is lackluster at best, awful at worst.

No, it isn't. Twilight's story ranges from "meh" to vomit inducing. Explain to me, how is the plot element of a girl deciding to jump off a cliff so she can hallucinate about the boyfriend that left her considered "good"? Or when Meyer needs to find a way to get Bella to get together with Edward, but avoid conflict with Jacob that would arise in choosing a vampire over him, so has him get imprinted or whatever on Bella's child so now everything is a-okay.

If you could, please list a story/book or whatever that you feel is excellent story tellling. Maybe I'll agree?

I absolutely love the lore of the Vampires and Werewolves. I like how she tried (but failed) to mix in science with. The actual stories and how they took place are very entertaining. It's not as though I'm in the minority. It's just popular for young men to hate on it. I don't care. I like vampire stories. Meyer did decently with hers. Some apologize for her prose and character interaction because it is supposed to be told from a teenager's perspective. I somewhat agree...but would point them to people like Faulkner who pulled off excellent prose through the perspectives of children.

We don't really get much of the vampire lore though. We get a little of the Werewolve(shapeshiter) lore, which is the best part of the series without a doubt, but not very much.

Twilight had very little story. A girl falls in love with a vampire...then they kind of float around for a bit, thinking about how they love each other for some reason. And then a bad guy shows up, completely out of nowhere and accomplishes nothing.

New Moon was focused around Bella being overtly stupid. On the plus side Jacob, the only good character from Twilight, changes and develops. And then the vampires come back through contrived circumstances and Bella now has to become a vampire or be killed.

Eclipse, actual conflict happens. Most off screen mind you but it happens. So the best of the books by far, though it does make the mistake of making the side characters stories look infinitely more entertaining than the story we have.

Breaking Dawn...uggh.

Kay, and those are fair enough criticisms. If that was your actual opinion, then that would be your opinion. People are entitled to their opinions. I apologize if I'm too lazy to put, "imo" in front of everything.

I thought the lore was fleshed out just enough to make you crave more of it. I want a "Volturi" novel. Written by someone else, of course. I agree that the Werewolf lore was pretty cool, too.

I guess you missed the part where it talked about their approach to Forks? Eclipse mirrors that, by the way, with the New Borns (you could say that Eclipse was Twilight but with more vampires approaching...meaning, it was just a recycled story with more drama in the boy friend department. I would agree.).

We got some of the best story telling in the second novel, actually. We get to find out abot more how the vampire world works. How vampires see each other. Their abilities. Werewolves were introduced. And most especially, my favorite part about Twilight: the Volturi.

Interesting how we take different approaches to the stories. I thought Eclipse was one of the most bland. I did like the new born lore brought into it. I liked Jasper's backstory, too.

Breaking Dawn is a mixed bag, for me. Some parts were really cool. Some parts were really bad. I liked the imprinting of Jacob onto the newborn. It's not pedo (like I thought was going to happen). I thought it would go that direction and I was about to be done with the series. It was a bit better than that. I also liked Bella's vampire portion...where she learned how to be one n'stuff. I liked it that she had far more control than any others thought could happen for a new born (it reminded me of "unlocking powers" and having super control over them in a shounen manga...which I obviously enjoy).

No, my point awas never about me wanting you to put "imo" in front of your opinions. It was that even fine art can be trashed quite easily and legitmately. It means that your opinion is no better than mine because we obviously differ. Your approach to Twilight is how you think I was approaching the smugness (or lack thereof) in your posts.
