Since Mayuri's fight with Ishida, nothing can actually be a mortal wound except being vaped.
Also, why can't a head-shot work? Nemu all but directly states that if Ishida went for the head Mayuri would have died.

I consider this a red herring to the actual point.
It was established since Ishida's fight with Mayuri that any mortal wound can be healed be even squad 4 if they were "gotten to" in time.
Ichigo had a gigantic cut in his torso from Kenpachi. GIGANTIC! Same with kenpachi. Kenpachi's gash was so bad that his right arm and shoulder were practically hanging on by just a little bit.
Those are all mortal wounds and any normal person would die from them in less than a minute.

That's an example of a mortal wound kill that would work...but ...technically, Inoue could revive the person.
No one dies because no one can. uhuh
Yamamoto is keeping his arm lost simply because he's too prideful to have it restored...like Speedy McLittleTits did.

My only point was that Mayuri is a bad example to use because his body is inherently different from the average Shinigami.
That is all.

Cool story, bro.
It's just that...I used the fight, not as an example, but a chronological event/marker for when we first realized that you really can't die in Bleach if you're a good guy.
Ishida had mortal wounds, iirc.
Mayuri was a bad guy in that fight. He's not the "being" I am using as my example.

Can't remember for sure, but I'm relatively sure Ishida's mortal wound was being poisoned, which he survived due to Nemui having the antidote right there.
That was part of it: "you're going to die for sure. Wait, nevermind. Lulz"
But I also thought he was slashed or something.

Ishida, Aizen, Urahara, Mayuri and the pink guy I guess. I'm blanking on the others.
