In Kubo's defense, he kind of explained why: Ichigo's reiatsu fluctuates so wildly that sometimes it was higher than Ulq's and Ulq was apparently on a different level than the other Espada when he reached second stage.

That should be expected: Ichigo is a mere baby compared to the Captains: they have had decades to training...some hundreds of years of experience. Ichigo has the equivalent of 1.5 years? Maybe?

I'm still patiently awaiting the explanation as to why Unohana doesn't do shit in major battles or is off-screen until all the tension boils down. Or the stuff that she does do is relatively minor and sometimes unwanted.

That is certainly a better explanation and makes more sense than "Yamamoto told me not to"

That would work better. A ragier/crazier/stronger version of Kenpachi? I think that character has appeal.

why do you guys think she's some kind of rage beast like Zaraki?

Her being Kenpachi just means that she was the strongest, not the wildest. I just don't see her being a psycho like Kenny.

It explains why she doesn't participate in battle if she's able to be so unhinged that she can kill anything(barring Yamamoto I suppose).

well, she definitely did something. I nearly did a spit-take like Ichigo and Renji did when that happened.

and chances are there is a reason why Unohana is always getting one of those sickly sweet angry vibes; she's holding back a terrifying temper. it would make sense given she is the first Kenpachi and why she doesn't really fight anymore.
