I do not like how the Shinigami cannot seem to ever catch a break. One thing that made Fair Tail's bout with their enemies is they kept getting taken out, beaten, down, losing, etc. But then, FINALLY, they started busting out the pwnage over and over and it heaped. Every now and again, there needs to be some curb stomping that make the bad guys STFU. Especially if the bad guys have been laying down the smack.
So, I do not like that the Quincy just won't go down. I don't always need an unstoppable enemy to enjoy. And, as fact, I enjoy it when the protagonists lay down the smack every now and again. It's one of the reasons Berserk is so damn good: Guts just berserks and lays down the smack once in a blue moon. We need that in Bleach. It was going good but I feel this last chapter lost that momentum and we are back in the "meh, everything is hopeless again and every victory is going to be hard fought with more losses...and then revivals."
Remember when Ichigo came back from his training and WTF pwned all the Vice Captains in hand to hand? That was AFTER getting torn to shreds and being on the brink of death for many days fighting tons of enemies. That's the way you do things. Gotta throw your readers an easy, WTF, curb stomp, every now and again to make them love the characters again.
To use another example, remember when Goku got to Namek and made mince-meat out of some of the Ginyu force? That was fun. But that was also AFTER all the good guys were getting a major beat down and after Goku came back from near death at Vegeta's hands. A great way to write a story where the good guys get a nice curb stomp.
