The only two captains I'm excited for to see in battle are Kenpachi, Komamura, and Mayuri. And to some degree Shunsui because we haven't seen his Bankai yet.

about damn time things started to turn around in this fight, though it'd have been nice if the captains had done it themselves and not need Urahara to bail their asses out of this mess.

It is about time the Captains get an edge.

Also, I like what Kubo has come up with. It makes sense, now, to think about why the Quincy wanted to wipe out the Hollows: the hollows can destroy a Quincy's soul (just the same as a Quincy can destroy a hollow's soul). Not so for a Shinigami.

That also makes sense: Shinigami are there to disperse a hollow and deliver a soul burial so the soul (or souls that formed the hollow in the case of the more advanced ones) can be reborn. This keeps the after-life in balance.

This is dumb but at least Kisuke and Mayuri had funny banter with each other. Also considering recent event I'm surprised Soul Society has lasted this long. Sure they had Yamamoto and Unohana but SS on a whole is hella incompetent at times and seem to rely heavily on outside help during major battles.

Well, the Quincy had sort of a holy motif, so it makes sense that spiritual impurities is like poison to them.

Hopefully the captains will now get their Bankai back and we'll have an all-out fight with major causalities on both sides.

indeed we have a right to dream. just doubt it since Kubo tricked us all that time ago into thinking Byakuya would have died. if he had died, then I might be a bit more open to the idea that others would follow, but now I'm just not sure.

There's no reason for them not to use it now since a tiny bit of Hollow is poisonous.

It occurred to me just now that the reason for that Ichigo's Bankai couldn't be stolen was because he was part Hollow. dur

I thought he burned up his hollow powers (and only his Shinigami powers were restored to him)? I thought the reason it couldn't be stolen was due to him being part Quincy.

I didn't like the way this played out. Kubo should have kept the story as he was originally painting it: that the captains and co trained their asses off to be able to counter their own Bankai AND the Quincy powers.

It would have made for better "man vs. man" plot.

agreed, dadudemon. then again, the sternritter did attack them while they were still training, so it's sort of justifiable. sort of. well, let's just hope the other captains who got their bankais stolen (Byakuya and Komamaru) do something awesome on their own without taking their bankais back first....

I like how when Yhwach predicts something Kubo actually explains his logic behind the prediction. He doesn't have Aizen's omniscience he just knows what the Shinigami would logically do.
