Still think Bach is an idiot Q99? 😛
Ok, "I absorb those under me," is a pretty good excuse for killing off your subordinates!
Though... it still makes more sense to send them against enemies and let them die inflicting damage (as super-star/James did) rather than have your own people do it.

So if Bach needs to absorb his dead people to get his power back, why not just kill off half of the Sternritters and leave the stronger ones.
That'd still leave more of Soul Society's forces intact.
There's no actual benefit in killing them himself unless he lacks a foe.
Keep in mind that there's some form of balance that has to be kept. Perhaps he needed a few immediate sacrifices, after all at the end of the chapter when he awakes he takes note of that all his senses are still intact.
That said he absorbs the souls of the Quincy and the Shinigami that fall. So it's not a waste to have them out there.

Yea, point. Sometimes you gotta sacrifice some to keep things going. Still, considering there were already some casualties, strikes me a bit odd that that'd be needed now when there was such a long period of inactivity where he'd hardly be regularly killing powerhouses.
chances are he needs to take in back the pieces of his soul when there is fighting going on in order to redistribute the pieces (if that's even needed) or maybe there's some other bit of knowledge that Haschwalth left out for now. still, I have to say, this impressed me; originally, I had thought that Yhwach and his sternritter went from being quite pragmatic to stupidly generic, but now it's revealed he's been pragmatically doing things all along. by sending out his troops to fight (and presumably spread more of his pieces of soul around), no matter how things go down, he'll get those pieces back at the end of the day and power up... or restore himself to full power anyway. it also explains how exactly he took back the powers of the half-blood quincies too...
It actually really explains Bach's mind set. He is morally reprehensible in how he doesn't care about his followers dying and will casually kill them off but it makes sense. If they don't die, he can't do much of anything. And if he gets attached to them then he'll simply get hurt because they inevitably have to die.
His cruelty is perfectly understandable.
I still think this chapter was oddly placed. Its nice to get insight on Bach's mentality but did we need the chapter now?

How is it the shinigami will be absorbed by Bach when they die anyway? Do they have to make physical contact with those touched by him for that to happen or is it when they got their bankais back? If it's the latter, does he even want to absorb them now since Mayuri made them partially part hollow that caused the quincies who took their powers to get their insides wrecked? Wouldn't Bach be facing similar problems?
So was Uryu really dumb enough to just take in Bach's blood w/o thinking about it possibly screwing him over?
Also couldn't Bach just solo everyone with a gesture now. I mean he didn't have a problem doing it with the half-bloods and since his power now extends to the Shinigami too, then he would also get them right?

When reading that chapter, I had a theory:
The reason Ishida was chosen as Bach's successor is due to Ishida having the same ability as Bach. So, Ishida will expel Bach's horcrux and defeat Voldemort.
I mean...wtf
Ishida will expel Bach's spirit and marry Ginny.
I mean...dammit
Ishida will expel Bach's spirit and knock down Hermione's Dumbledore with his magic wand.
