Mayuri is probably the best character in the series. It doesn't matter what he does, it's always interesting.
Not the word I'd use for him...

This is the Mayuri fight that we deserve. It doesn't hurt that it's entertaining too.
Grappling hand, explody suit, and Quincy airwalking is visually more engaging than his super drugs at the very least.
Still, Kubo shot himself in the foot. Mayuri is going toe to toe with one of Yhwach's elite. Normally wouldn't be so bad if he hadn't also shown the elite defeating the "stronger than all of Soul Society combined" Zero Division.

A lot of the Sternritters are not dangerous because of their raw power, they're dangerous because of their abilities; and no one is more fit to handle new and unique abilities than Mayuri as he's able to protect himself from every conceivable angle and identify as they're revealed.
Which doesn't change the fact that Mayuri is performing better than the individuals that were supposed to be stronger than the entirety of the Gotei 13. Using that logic Mayuri can beat Yamamoto just because he's weird and unpredictable.
Mayuri kills the tension in this series because if he doesn't take the Sternritter seriously why should we the reader? The sooner Uryu kills him the better off we'll be.

Originally posted by AuraAngelbecause we already watched them destroy other people. They've proven themselves a threat.

And who says Mayuri doesn't take them seriously? You're using his personality to say he doesn't care, when in fact he cares so much that made sure he could counter them.
