Oh, I don't know, a surgery bankai that requires touch is actually pretty good! It's *strong*- it provides both offense (taking the opponent apart, if they're in range), and defense (fixing your own wounds, natch), and some clever uses (making a hole in a barrier). It's not vague, it's not reliant on wordpuns or overly broad definitions. It's concrete but powerful.

And Yoruichi I guess isn't gonna have a bankai...

We can only hope Kenpachi has one.

(Though a dumb part- "My intel didn't say anything about you having a bankai!". Why would you not assume that captain foes have secret bankai? It's not like DBZ where people can not-know about powerups, everyone knows zanpaku-to have two forms, and if a captain doesn't, that's the weird thing [Kenpachi])

It's basically the same thing as Pernida's power, which was pretty stupid. Honestly these OP, indefensible Bankai that are impossible to dodge are annoying.

But it wasn't even the Bankai that won the fight. It also has a clear weakness in terms of range apparently.

But it's virtually impossible to get close to it.

Hang back and attack from a distance lol. We don't know that it just creates an omnidirectional effect where attack is literally impossible. It might be like Byakuya's where, even if he can block attacks from any angle he still needs to consciously do it.

At least unlike Yamamoto's and Shunsui's I know why this wasn't used on Aizen. Kidou was a better choice and Aizen can hang back and blast away with his own Kidou.

The idea that anything in it's range can get instantly split apart without something having to touch it is ridiculous. The reconstruction/deconstruction thing in general? I can get behind that.

I don't know how he reconstructed a path from the outside of the barrier when his Bankai was inside of it, though. I also don't know why reconstructing the buildings with stitches made the poison irrelevant.

Well at least Urahara's Bankai wasn't a complete "no you" nor did said bankai have to be saved by something even more convenient after surprisingly not finishing the job.

So I guess this just leaves Ukitake as the only mystery bankai of the original 13 captains.

Oh look, Nel.

Wait wait wait! Hold on a minute! I'm confused here by the chapter's ending.

Spoiler:
Yachiru this whole time was a Zanpakuto? Or maybe Kenpachi's bloodlust was so powerful, it rejected what innocence he had left and it formed into a little girl with half of his power. Being two of the same person would be why Kenpachi feels he needs to look after her! It's all making sense now!

Spoiler:
And now Kenpachi knows Bankai....OH #$&@ HE KNOWS BANKAI! Everyone get in the bunker! Now!
Spoiler:
It looks like Yachiru is Nozarashi.

Strategy? Tactics? Nah, Bankai!

If violence isn't working you're not using enough of it.

Asspulls, asspulls everywhere.

You know what doesn't have asspulls DP-san?

Spoiler:
So Kenpachi and Yachiru are the same as Stark and Lilynette or whatever? I guess now's a good a time as any for bankai

Could be worse, after plug & play bankai and "swords are scary" I'm down with this fight.

Sorreh bro, getting into Bakuman now.

But Magi is on the docket for right after Bakuman. Or maybe both simultaneously if I have time. mmm

Also, seriously, no asspulls in Magi?

I need to get into Bakuman. Those were the Death Note guys right?

And not really. At least not imo.

Yap. Now they're doing that angel manga.

You'll lose a lot of e-cred if there is indeed an asspull and you've given me false info. 😛

Which is terrible, by the way.

Spoiler:
So it looks like Kenpachi's Bankai turns him into a demon.
