boring chapter imo.tbh it didnt even really seem necessary. the only relevant part was the explanation for barregans death, which sucked.
You missed Barringan's whole background or introduction to Aizen.
TBH, that was a very important part of the story.
Here's some important info we learned:
Aizen used his sword to hypnotize Barringan, just as Nemebro theorized many moons ago.
Barringan was THE supreme ruler, THE king of Hueco Mundo.
Aizen visited Hueco Mundo BEFORE he betrayed soul society as we see him with his glasses and normal hair. We know he had connections, but to what extend, we did not know. We now know that Barringan wasn't just wearing a crown for no reason. He was THE supreme ruler and definitely a Vasto Lorde. This puts it into perspective on how connected Aizen was before his public betrayal.
We also find out that Barringan was using some sort of power to keep the dark mist stuff from hurting himself. (Sounds an aweful lot like Pyro keeping fire from hurting himelf, as long as he has control.) So, basically, it looks like I was right, my comparison was rather on target, and you were wrong. Yes, that means I was right.
That's quite a bit of things we learned.
It wasn't like other chapters where we learned just one thing such as Ulq telling Ichigo that he got better, or learning that Stark was the Primera.
