The necessity of believing in christ would be proven, by the events of the rapture, to anyone left behind. According to the Pre-Tribulationists, the persecutions and tribulations will begin after the rapture.
I know very little about the rapture, the form of Christianity that I was long ago, did not believe in it. So, I will ask you a stupid question. Isn't the rapture the drop dead date, so to speak, for being saved?
If you're pre trib...you believe all Christians will be taken before the Tribulation of evil comes.....If you are mid-trib, then you will be taken in the middle of the Tribulation..3 1/2 years after the signing of a peace treaty between the middle east...If you are post trib, then you believe that you will stay for the whole tribulation and there is no secret rapture, but only a second coming..but god will or might protect Christians from it..depending on what you believe...there are 3 different views on the rapture...though some have some dates as 1844..when that didn't happen, then it was said by some that it was some kind of invisible rapture....
the point is that you don't want to be here when the anitchrist comes into power after the peace treaty...cause that's when the real persecutions will happen...the thing most people don't know, is that scripture was talking about a "New Covenant" caused by Christs death...there is no raptures and the tribulation was the fall of Jerulsem in 70 ad.
This has really been played up by the churches big time, movies, books and the Mark of the Beast kind of thing...People have been waiting for 2000 years now.
Plus there are different views on what the "Mark of the Beast" is also.
