Ok, someone really needs to drill this through my head. What is so damn fascinating about Empire Strikes Back? I know it's a great film, but why does everyone see this one as being the "God" of all 6 movies? The entire first half of that movie bores the shit out of me. Then I'll admit, the second half is so good that it by far makes up for all the junk on Hoth. So to say, I do like Empire Strikes Back. Again, the second half is so dark and chilling that it becomes a cinema masterpiece. But the first half to me is just....ehhh...nothing great. Then again, I shouldn't be asking this question because I'll just get the obvious response..."Irvin Kershner....Irvin Kershner....Irvin Kershner did this right, he did that right." Maturity wise, yes this is the most developed film. I just find Episode III to be way more "Fun" to watch. Go ahead and call me a person who doesn't care about true storyline, only flashly lightsaber duels. I won't argue with you. As I already stated, I'm that kind of guy that takes a "fun" film over a mature film.

Return of the Sith was the best movie watching for the first time. I never felt the same about Empire Strikes back for the first time. ESB was great, but didn't have the same feeling...
I likes the ROTS feeling better, ESB was a really exciting and surprising movie. ROTS had other emotions that no movie ever made me feel.

Uhmmmm........Yoda(then he was still mysterious and cute), uhmmmmm Hoth-battle, uhmmmmm Vader vs. Luke and the truth about them.......the whole story and the dark spin to it.....

That time it was a cinematic milestone, no loads of CG-shit etc.....although Sith is also a great picture!!!!!

I like it, I just don't find it thrilling compared to some of the the other battles in Star Wars you know? Like I say, I like Empire Strikes Back alot, it's my 3rd favorite of them all. I just think it's a tad bit overrated at times.

My third place is for ROTS!
It's just the classic feeling that gives ESB the edge for most of the SW-fans I think.

Empire was better acting. better story
Sith was more fighting. they didnt have much of a story line just fighting fighting fighting. empire is better

I say that Revenge of the sith is better. The fighting literally squashes all the other attempts at fighting in the classic episodes. #3 all the way! 😄

You can't judge a movie only by it's fighting scenes.
Certainly there must be more arguments to why you think EP3 is better!

I would say ESB if i grew up watching the OT, but i'd have to say ROTS

definatley esb man cmon its a classic. dont get me wrong sith was great but esb is better

I much prefer Revenge of the Sith. It had a much better story-line.

I think I've posted my opinion in this thread multiple times, but the Empire Strikes Back! is one of the greatest movies of all time, whereas Revenge of the Sith is little better than a Steven Seagal film.
