*["Why is repenting an option?..."]
***A very good and insightful question.
REPENTANCE is NOT making a resolution to do better...and it is NOT a conviction of sin...for a person can be CONVINCED he is WRONG and still NOT repent. REPENTANCE is a "change of mind" [i.e., specifically, about Jesus of Nazareth and to acknowledge Him as Lord (=God) and Christ (=Messiah)]..."a change of heart"...and it RESULTS in "a change of action."
When one comes to FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ...this FAITH will produce a WORK...and that WORK is REPENTANCE...for the Scripture saith: "Even so FAITH, if it hath NOT works, is DEAD, being alone" [James 2:17]. So then FAITH ALONE in Jesus Christ is what "saves" a person [Ephesians 2:8,9]...and it results in REPENTANCE! In other words...we don't repent to GET "saved"...we repent because we ARE "saved."

*["How come, according to your very own church, I can basically shadow my sins and eliminate them with confession and repenting?"]
***You, my friend, can do NOTHING to "shadow my sins...and eliminate them"...for only God can do that. Too, according to the Scriptures...you are DEAD in "trespasses and sin" [i.e., spiritually dead] and alienated from God. The ONLY solution for the "elimination" of your sins is through FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ and His SUBSTITUTIONARY death for you on Calvary's cross. He ALONE is the MEDIATOR between you and God [1 Timothy 2:5]. I pray that you will consider my words and not think that I tell you these things to be contentious and abusive.

*["So I can repay with death?"]
**No...Jesus Christ ransomed you with HIS death.

*["What if someone else was sinless? They live forever? No one CAN be sinless..."]
***If Adam had not sinned, he would have lived forever...for it is written: "For the WAGES of sin is DEATH..." [Romans 6:23]...but he DID sin...and he was placed under a DEATH sentence by God for his sin: "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, TILL thou RETURN UNTO THE GROUND; for out of it wast thou taken: for DUST thou ART, and DUST shalt thou RETURN" [Genesis 3:19].
Christ was the only one who NEVER sinned: "For what the LAW could NOT do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His OWN SON in the LIKENESS of SINFUL flesh, and for sin, CONDEMNED SIN IN THE FLESH" [Romans 8:3]. The word "likeness" indicates that Jesus was a true man but NOT a SINFUL man [i.e., flesh=body].

*["Children sin. Why do children sin if it's something that is bad and unatural? Hmm? Explain this to me."]
***Children SIN because they are born SINNERS...they are the NATURAL offspring of their parents who sinned and fell in the Garden [Genesis 3:6] and became SINNERS. Children sin because they have the NATURE of their parents...and that NATURE is a SINFUL NATURE. Too, this is confirmed in Scripture: "For ALL have SINNED and fall short of the glory of God" [Romans 3:23]...the apple never falls far from the tree.
Hear what RIGHTEOUS King David had to say about his BIRTH...it will give you a different perspective on the NATURE of "innocent' children: "Behold, I was shapen in INIQUITY, and in SIN did my mother CONCEIVE me" [Psalm 51:5]. It is not that the acts of giving birth or conceiving are in themselves sinful, but that from the MOMENT of CONCEPTION a person possesses a SINFUL NATURE.
