I don't think that the band Disturbed is overrated. Nobody has really followed them since their debue album because everybody hated the 2nd one. This is in generalization mind you since I myself liked the 2nd album, but most people didn't. So if anything, I could see how it is possible to claim that their 1st album was overrated, but I liked it.

Explain the Radiohead, nobody has been able to yet. The one person who tried revealed that he just didn't like them. Which doesn't equate to overrating. Also the Zappa, that puzzles me considering he's responsible for being one of the most innovative, peerless musicians ever.

Radiohead create the illusion that all their lyrics are cryptic and deep, when in fact they just make up random shit that comes to their heads and dress it up with deep emo artwork and vague hints at anti-Americanism, or something. Zappa sounds like shit. He cannot sing and he pisses all over everything with his guitar like a total amateur.
How utterly predictable.
Emo artwork? That's not only criminally false, but it's also no reason to call the band overrated. Lyrics? A lot of them ARE cryptic and DO hold deeper meaning. Ever think you might not be able to get them? Of course not, nobody is ever willing to admit that someone they dislike is smarter than they are. Moreover, that's Thom Yorke's lyrics. No reason to call the BAND overrated.
You not liking Zappa is fine, but to say someone is overrated PURELY because you don't like them when they FACTUALLY have done a shit load for music to get rated for, is ridiculous.

I never buy into "You just don't get it". It just smacks of pretension to me. Maybe I'm missing something with Radiohead -- I listened to OK Computer and found nothing of any value at all. I listened to Kid A, I liked the vocals on the first track but everything else... it was so boring I wondered if it was the same album I had heard so many say was "brilliant" or if I had some weird bootleg of dodgy outtakes or something. Overrated is purely opinion-based anyway, there's no factual basis there.

Well calling them overrated because you don't like the idea that this band might be smart enough to go over your head is pretention of the highest order.

'Bullseye' doesn't quite do this quote justice.

Fair enough, but surely you recognise that it's regarded as one of the greatest albums ever for a reason? It's incredible. Normally I wouldn't use that as an example but everyone from people who know a bit, to people who know shit loads, cite that album as such.

Well you called them overrated based on artwork, lyrics and not getting into their albums. Because you don't get them (because you clearly don't, not to be offensive) doesn't mean I'm rating them too high.
