I may have to go there in a week or two for my work. I'm supposed to relieve a news photographer who basically has been working since the hurricane happened. It'll give this person a chance to get their life in order a bit, a chance to do whatever he or she has to do while I fill their position. One of our sister stations got wiped out over there as well, but our company, Hearst/Argyle is still going to cut them paychecks until things are in order.

you're not real...in all seriousness, i DID quote it. if you refuse to see it, then thats your problem. not mine 🙂
i think the problem is yours if you think what i posted is racist...proves that you see things that aren't there...probably see fairies too...if i had that problem then i'd see a doctor
We hear all the time how fat this country is getting. If you want to see how epidemic this problem has become in this nation, then you need look no further than the "refugees" left in need due to hurricane Katrina. When the camera pans across the fields of helpless and stranded people, it's hard to tell the difference between the victims and the superdome. All I see are bloated people being carried away on stretchers, hardly able to reach the bottom of their own shirt to pull down over their bloated stomachs! I'm sure a lot more could be accomplished if it didn't take four members of the, already strained, National Guard to carry out ONE survivor!
On top of that, if these people can't get food and water...where the hell are they getting the cigarettes? I keep seeing all these people talking about starving in a pile of dead bodies and human waste.... but they have a cigarette in their hand?! I guess it's all about priorities.
I know it's shallow to address these issues in a time of great emergency, but I'll let everyone else(the media, the politicians, the survivors) address the human tragedy aspect.
I don't mean to make light of the situation, but...
jesse jackson on cue to liken new orleans to "slave ships" and that the whole world views black people as "sub-human"
and black people "frozen out of leadership but trapped in suffering"
completely ignoring the fact that lt gen russell honore who is leading the military aid effort in the region is black
all he is doing is stirring up more acts of violence towards police officers and soldiers who are predominantly white and are simply there to help and keep the peace...which in turn prolongs the suffering of the mainly black community that if affected by the hurricane
way to go jesse...you can get your foot sewn back on at hospital
