I never understood why people continually assume it takes Sue ages to shield them. It takes seconds, if that. He hasn't gotta stand around and call time out while she does it.
Yeah, I never understood that either. It should only take just over second to shield them all, and another two seconds after that for Sue to give the thumbs up to Johnny to make sure they're all shielded (shields being invisible and all), and another couple of seconds to supernova everybody to death.
So the whole process is REALLY fast. I'd say six seconds tops, because they're a great team that functions really well.
Unfortunately, about half a second in Emma goes, "sleep"...and that's that.

Emma decided to go diamond instead of playing the role of telepath. Plot dictated it. Similar to why Sue doesn't suffocate every opponent in a second with invisible fields.

You don't have to turn around to get sucker punched. If Bruce Lee was talking smack to my face, not thinking I'm going to do anything about it, and I clock him out of nowhere, it's still a sucker punch. And it's still not a predictor of how I'd actually do against Bruce Lee in a fight.

Sue has to go through more steps to attack somebody than Emma does. Sue has to form her objects, which is an extra step. The formation is instantaneous, but the decision to make an object of a certain form isn't. Emma just points and shoots. I went through all of that on the other FF thread. Not gonna rehatch it here.

It doesnt matter if you consider it a sucker punch or not; if Emma had beaten sue would you be dismissing it as a cheap shot?

You figure Richards is some nice lady who won't do anything. Emma underestimated her and paid for it. Won't happen again, and not in this scenario.

In that scan posted, if Emma had knocked everybody out instead of just giving them headaches while they were otherwise occupied, would I have counted that as a victory for Emma? No. So there you go.
