In this situation, you'd have to prove that I wasn't a credible source. Since I don't have any history of lying, making shit up, etc, I don't see the problem. My job isn't to be nice and loving, I try to tell it like it is. If it comes off condescending, then that's the way it comes off. You can't logically write me off as a source, considering that I AM older than you, and that I HAVE experienced everything I'm describing, and that I'm NOT talking out of my ass.
I'm not saying you're not, DS, but I'm just saying that I doubt he'll be receptive to such advice (particularly when it's presented in the way you've presented it) from someone who may or may not be a social leper himself. [/B]
Well, like I said. I think my first gf was actually at 17 now that I remember, although that lasted 3 months. I had very few friends in high school because my maturity level was drastically below everyone else and I was just a dick. Later I found out I had weird chemical imbalances due to multiple concussions from sports during my adolescence. I went to college with an open mind. I wanted to put myself out there and see if it would change me for the better. I admit for the first 6 months, I was deathly terrified. I either didn't go at all, or got totally hammered to the point where I didn't have to talk to anyone. Then as time went on, I had to drink less and less to be social (although I drank more because being buzzed was fun). After 18 months, I didn't have to drink at all because it became natural. And that's what I'm trying to explain. Under most circumstances, people do not go to a non commuter College for the education. You want an education? Get a book and read it at home. College is for the social experiences Gideon. If I ask you "Gideon, why did you go to college", are you going to seriously tell me that it was only because it was a pathway to law school?
