The two pilots ran into the launch bay, “Ready the pelican, were launching any time now.” The pilot jumped into the back and his co-pilot followed suit. They started flicking switches, pressing buttons. “Power is good, engines at one hundred percent, we have green lights, electrical and optronic systems are coming online.”
The pilot moved to leave, “Keep it warm, I’m going to get the marines to bring some ammo.” ”OK.” The co-pilot watched him jump off the back and run for the corridors.
He intercepted Delta Squad on the way to the hanger. “Get an ammo crate. It’s going to be hot down there. We already lost Bravo Squad.” The delta Gunnery Sergeant nodded, “Ok men you heard him, you, you, go to the armory and grab the ammo crate. Two of the men ran off.
The copilot looked at his console, he opened communication. “Uh sir…I have thermal variation, two is getting a lot hotter than one.” He was still flicking switches.
”Shut it down and re-fire, it’ll work fine. It’s a new model, air tight, and it has fighter defenses, it’ll work.” The pilot shut com, “Board the pelican Sarge. It’s the biggest one in the hangar, you should be able to tell.” He walked around to the marines, his destination unknown.
The captain signaled the pilot, “I see Flores already told you our situation. Keep going, were letting out the fury that is the human race. I’m told she’s a Spartan, she will be the back up we are sending down along with Delta Squad, keep moving, double it, time is not on our side.” He cut comm. He turned to Flores, “Tell the Research and Tech crews to let her out.”
Flores smiled. “I already did.”
The pilot walked into the room overlooking the cryo chamber, he looked at the officer. “How long until he can suit up and come?”
”No long now, and it’s a SHE.”
