Halo: Darkness Ascendant

((We'll Pretend the other Garrison never existed, and this Garrison is the real one.))

Nuron walked to the side of the Pelican and hammered his fist into a large red button, his eyes hadn't stung from watching what was just a big white light, only because of the reflective shades he was wearing. He watched as the ramp closed, and air was pulled into the Pelican, and then everything was air tight. He turned around and looked at all the faces, and sighed. There was one face he may never get to see again. He eyed Rae, and took a seat beside her, he paused for a second before talking. "Ten's a very hard man to kill Rae. He survived his own ship blowing up over Reach. If anyone could have survived that, it would be him." He then pulled out one of the datapads under his uniform, it was a topographic map of the area. "We'll see soon enough." He said, and tapped some buttons, it beeped, but the map remained empty. No signal. His expression never changed, no one could read what he saw, which was that Ten's signal was gone. He set the datapad on his seat when he rose, screen facing down. "You can look if you want." He said, then started walking to the cockpit.

The Elites, and the single surviving Grunt Kokoz all remained silent, staring at the floor. Shxzalor slowly looked up and stared at the datapad, but never got up from his seat, yet his eyes never left the device.

Walking into the cockpit, Nuron tapped the co-pilot on the shoulder. She turned around and looked up at him, "I'll take over from here." He said, "The others in the back want to know where were going."

The co-pilot nodded slowly, and then got up and moved to the back. She stopped as soon as she entered, all these people, and aliens she realized, look like they had been through hell and back. Some a lot more than others. She didn't speak for a few minutes, though she knew not all of them had made it. "The Razor's Kiss detected your own ships signal. We were coming back from deep space and entered the system. Were heading back to the Kiss to load up on supplies and weapons. The Covenant ship as your AI, and none of the ship have weapons, and only the Kiss has engines. We need to move quickly if we are to recover your AI. Once we dock with the Kiss you have two options. Any volunteers among the ones who had been topside are welcome to come after loading up at the armory, or you can choose to stay on the Kiss. It's your choice. For those of you who are going to help board the Covenant vessel, you also have two choices should you volunteer. The first group will leave simply after getting to the armoury. The second group will leave after medical treats your wounds. Any questions?"

Nuron sat down at the co-pilot's seat, and pulled out a second datapad of similar design, obviously it had the ability to perform similar, and overlapping functions. He plugged it in using a versatile cable, to the Pelican's sensors, which would boost the effect. He thought he caught a blip out of the corner of his eye, but when he looked it was gone. But if Ten was alive he'd take that chance. He hailed the Razor's Kiss. "Nuron to Razor's Kiss."

Jack walked over to his officer, "This is Captain Jack Ford."

"Am I correct in believing that you have a WarHawk on board?" Nuron asked.

Jack paused, that info shouldn't be well known enough for some random officer to know. "You are correct." He said slowly. "But no one can figure out how to pilot it."

Nuron shook his head, "I can pilot the craft. Just give me the best co-pilot you have and let me go back down to the surface. I have a possible rescue."

Jack arched an eyebrow, "Correct me if im wrong but nothing's left down there. Our sensors detected that explosion, and we could see it from up here. Who could possibly be left?"

Nuron smiled slighlty, "A Spartan. And if he's dead I want his armor."

Jack frowned, "Authorized." And he cut the transmission, this day was getting wierder by the minute.

(Oh and silent, before you get all into the sexist bullshit, don't say crap like you can do anything two times better than any man.... Because there are men out there that can lift more, men out there that are computer techs... mechanics for aircraft. you got people in congress, male and female, but I garauntee they can do a hell of alot better job than you.. I'm not trying to get this going again, but as you took offense to his comment, I took offense to yours..)

[] Wow you really shouldn't have brought this up again. Either your extremely stupid or you didn't even read my post. 🙄 I didn't say that I myself could do anything better than any man. don't be so immature. But I did mean that there are woman out there that can lift more than a man, and that are better than men with computers and mechanics. Watever it is... Theres always gonna be a woman that can do just as good as a man. I said im living proof of this because the things Im best at are male dominated( moto cross, video games, ect.) But despite all this I keep doing what I love, and if someone happens to be better than me it isn't going to be because of his gender. I took offense to his post because it was immature and sexist. I live in a racist/sexist community and stuff like this really gets me fired up. If you have a problem with the way I think too bad. Deal with it. []

Raevynn watched as Nuron checked the device. She felt a small sense of reassurance. Nuron was right, but she was told the very same thing when the entire SPARTAN III group was lost. She could only hope that this time around would be different. As Nuron put the device face down she felt the urge to grab for it, but was afraid of what would show up even though she already knew the answer. The spartan still wanted to go back and look for her comrade. Even if the device showed no sign of Ten, she remembered what Mendez had taught them in training: 'Machines break. Eyes don't.' Instead she returned her stare to the floor.

-I'm not stupid and I did read your post, more than once actually. Maybe if you took the time to look back on your own ignorance, you'd see your folly, not mine, maybe wording things better could have saved your post.. but in this last case, no.. You may be an equal, but that is where the line ends, dont slap a better on anything, I personally see all people as equal and others dont, that's fine, people think what they want.. everyone lives in a sexist community, EVERYONE does.. so please, quit being a dumbass and look at your folly.. And if you didn't care about how I feel about you technically insulting all males (your post did sound like it) then why did you reply?- Oh and by the way, I didn't like his post either, so dont get me wrong.. I'm not taking his side nor yours, I believe people just need to put their foot down when shit like this starts up.. Women and Men both have a duty to fight for freedom they fight for democracy, their right to live. men AND women are in the armed forces, not just men and women, Asians... blacks.. Latinos.. so where do you draw the line? keep calling yourself better than an opposite sex and you become what you get mad at. So maybe you meant to say that there is always an equal.. you shoulda just said that, instead of something along the lines of "I'm better than any male at Everything." so end of discussion, any more replies on this matter wont be read, back to the Rpg.... -

Also, forgive my ignorance on the whole weapons of halo, but... I've never heard of a warhawk in referance to halo. Was it made up? and if so, what is it..

OOC: ok is nuron on garrison's pelican? because I wrote that the co-pilot fell out of the ship when a banshee hit the ship.
oh and everyone,
STOP THE ARGUING (its messing up our halo-chi 😛 ) just pm each other about it if its that big a deal

IC: Garrison had an inquisitive look on his face, and then said

"Nuron, what the hell are you gonna do? and where the hell do you want me to take you guys? the Raz' is damaged, the Fist can't go anywhere, and im not to keen on landing on the covie ship."

((The WarHawk has a post about it a few pages back along with some other thigns I made up.))

[Liquid invented the Warhawk, Shadowhawk, Mirage, and Apparition on page 46. The Warhawk is tougher, faster, can go for longer, and has better guns and better use of those guns than the Pelican. But it's not male or female ;-)

And I thought Rae was on a differant Pelican, with Atkins. I guess they call those things "'Cans" for a reason--like cans of sardines. ]

Yi paused, and looked at Daravan. She pointed up, and then resumed what she had been doing, which was applying a burn ointment to Jenkin's eyes. Mike "the Brute" Hawkins, who was sitting next to Daravan, leaned his 6'-10" frame over and whispered, "Hey, she actually looked at you when she didn't speak. She must think you're not such a bad guy." Leaning back, he spoke at normal volume. "You're an engineer? Like, you build all sorts of great stuff? I just wish someone would figure out a good way to holster needlers. I've had to carry Becky and Amanda here in my hands all the time."

Nuron was looking at a datapad when Yi finished treating Jenkin's eyes. She spared a sidelong glance at the screen, pursed her lips, and put the ointment back into the medkit.

ummm, I'm lost, I don't really know (or care) what ship I'm on. You all can just say if you're there on the pelican that I'm on
(Zeshi)
I leaned back, "Might as well relax while we can. Next thing you know, we'll be facing some huge armada of nothing but Jiralhanae. And, for those of you not so great with what the covenant races are actually called, those would be Brutes." One of the marines spoke up (this is not a person who's played), "You act really different from most of your Elite brothers." "I don't like that whole, 'brotherly protecting the faith,' bulls***. It just doesn't appease to me. Neither does the whole, 'Speak proper.' thing"

Davaran looks at Yi's back side.. then looks at brute, "I... yeah I've been trying for quite a while to make a... usable holster, the one the covenant have just... " He takes a breath "It doesn't Promote premier Unsc safety and comfortability regulations.." He says with a stern but sarcastic look on his face.. "And like you being an actual soldier, I'm actually a pilot... just with a side major in engineering.... a bit of a flight accident can really screw up a guys will to do a job any more.. " he sighs then looks at keroth, he stands there, moving a smg in all directions, checking it piece by piece, clicking the safety on and off, seemingly amazed by it. "So... Brute they call you... Where did you come from? earth?"

Answering Daravan's question, Mike said, "No, I wish I came from Earth. I was there once, you know. I couldn't believe how tall the buildings were. Where I come from, we have one-story houses with barns and sheds, all made of wood. It's a colony called Windfall. Mostly everyone is a farmer there. My family grew corn, wheat, and soybeans, and we raised some cattle. The soil is really good. But I didn't want to be stuck on some backwater planet for the rest of my life, and the Corps seemed like a good way to see the galaxy. The transport to Basic Training was the first spaceship I'd ever been on, and after Basic, they let us spend a week's furlough on Earth before we shipped out. I ended up on the Razor's Kiss in Sgt. Jones' squad just a little while ago, and when those damn Covies came in and started killing people, well, I'd never seen one before. I get so MAD when I think about how they killed some of my friends who were in Nighthawk squad." Brute pounded his fist into the seat of the Pelican, jarring it. "Zulu squad is really good. Sarge taught us some really good tactics, and he likes to sneak around all the time. I have a hard time doing that, but he's probably right. It's better to surprise them than scare them, I guess. Yi is really good at that. Sneaking up, I mean. I guess it's easier when you're hardly five feet tall. She doesn't talk much, but she's a good person to have around, as long as you don't get on her bad side. She almost broke one guy's arm one time, before we got here. He said something crude to her, and leered, and before you knew it, he was on the floor with his arm twisted so far around it looked like someone put it on backwards. He was almost my size, the second biggest guy on the Kiss. Those friggin' cowards killed him--he was in Nighthawk." Brute stopped, clearly affected at the thought of his friends' fates.

Davaran listens to his story of basic training, thinking back to when he himself came from midland north america to basic, then to flight school and so fourth.. then reach, and leaving only days before it was destroyed he somewhat sympothized for the man, realizing the covenant will kill anyone that doesn't see their views, and from the looks of brute, his parent's sure as hell wont listen.. "I'm from earth." He mutters. "And.. I can already tell you, I respect you, and I fear her.." he says with a smirk. "and if A man who attempted to wrestle an elite, keroth over there, before we became friends, refuses to fight her.. I wonder how the elites on their side feel.. but then again, I've seen some of the other specialists of this group.. Rae 116 especially.. at 100 yards and beyond you wont even know you died untill.. well.. yeah. ten was a fun one... the few times he was around... If they gave me a team of ten men, and a whole arsenal of weapons, I could turn one of these spartans into a mobile death fortress....... I was already thinking of an arm mounted sniper rifle for 116.. I'd need some time with it..." he looks down realizing no one really wants to hear him rant. He slowly raises his heads.. "But this is after us marines kick these covenants ass and take their AI.." he hears the marines cheer a bit, a few hell yeahs and such.. keroth looks at davaran "but... I'm... a covenant.." Davaran smirks.. "No. You're a traitor!.. well Heretic, well.. A true warrior Sengihiell.. or however you say it.. one untainted by the evil prophets and their sadistic traitorist ways!" keroth looks at him, a eye brow clearly raised.. then he looks head on, holding the smg.. "Hell.... yeah."

[] Woah, Woah, Woah... You're right about how we shouldn't care about females in this game. A guns a gun and a soldiers a soldier. There were no females in the Halo1 game(minus cortana) And it really makes no difference whether or not a character has breasts or not! 😠 They would certainly not die first... I think you should get your priorities straightened out because hand eye coordination has absolutely NOTHING to do with your sex. If a female had no hand eye coordination she wouldn't be in the military in the first place. **** science! Unless Bill Ni told you that it's a total loud of Horse sh1t. Im living proof a female can do anything she wants twice as good as any male out there. If anyone thinks a man is better than a woman in any aspect then they can come talk to me... And we shall see about that 😠

Anywho... Sorry for the rant. Back to the RP ^_^ []

The spartan found the elites troubles to be of some amusement. She stood back up and swung around her trusty S2 AM sniper rifle as she stepped up to the tail of the pelican. She saw where the shot had originated from: A Jackal with a yellow shield propped up in front of him. He fired repeatedly and his last shot bounced of the shoulder plate on her armor. As he waited for his weapon to charge Raevynn took less than a second to carefully aim at the small opening in the shield where the jackals hand was exposed. Moments later her finger pressed the trigger back and the shot rang out loud inside the confines of the pelican. Outside the jackals chest was blown apart and his innards splattered against the inside of his useless shield.

(yowzas! sorry i meant no offense but i have read science reports saying women are smarter then most men and most men have better hand eye corridination so once again sorry)

Huon sat down and put his hands in his head.He saw the crater and/or cloud and wondered how many of the covenant bastards had been left dead in thier armor.Possibly they had just turned into dust but to him it didnt matter. No way any of it did....He remembered about his wife and son at earth and hoped he would get a medal and go on leave or something....Though the military doesnt work that way...He also thought of his father and how his ships might very well be destroyed in some battle light years away from here...

Atkins sighed thinking what he should do. He couldnt think very well though seeing as some of his best friends from the core had just been slaughtered and though he didnt know Ten to well he doubted that he would survive and realised it would be a severe loss. Atkins had listened to the co-pilots speech and thought hard he supposed that he might volunteer seeing as though his chances of survival were growing smaller by the minute.

we're just gonna say I'm on the ship with Huon
(Zeshi)
I looked to the soldier I had loaned the rifle to before. "You, I think I remember seeing you on the battlefield," I said to Huon (though he doesn't know his name), "I bet you have a family. I want to know...what's a family like? I've never had a family"

"Were going to the Razor's Kiss." Nuron said, "The Kiss has no weapons, aside from other general battle damage I think that's about it. The other two are nearly completely dead in space." He got up, and watched the Co-Pilot take her seat, then turned and went back out, and picked up the datapad, looking at the screen that showed no signals. He looked downwards for a few seconds, and then put the technology away. He looked over at Rae who was sitting beside him, and spoke quietly. "Look Rae, I dont want anyone else to get a hope, but I'm going back to the surface on one of the new WarHawks my affiliation designed. It's a very good machine, and..." He looked around, "I'll need a gunner. Were gonna have some Covvies hot on our tail, I'll take a marine, but I'd feel safer flying with you covering us. I think you probably want to charge the Covenant ship, but take it under consideration. If Ten's armor is still intact down there I want it." He said, with a very strange tone to his voice. He'd almost said, "If Ten's down there, I'm going to get him back."

Atkins was looking over at Nuron while he was talking to Rae. Many others were talking so he couldnt hear what was occuring but he suspected it was something of importance. Atkins noticed that Nuron looked uncomfortable the entire ride he wasn't aware of everything going on though. Whatever things were about to occur one thing was for sure Atkins was ready to give his life whenever he would be needed. Atkins looked down on the floor that was covered with muddy boot prints and sweat and blood. He pulled out his pistol then a cloth and shined it there wasnt to much else to do. Once he grew tired of shining his guns which didnt take too long he grew bored very quickly he only paid attention to things that would help him climb the ranks as a soldier. He looked back on the day past he and the rest had gone through more action in one day then some people do in a lifetime.

After a few minutes, Brute's mood had settled back to pensive, and when that grew a little tiresome, he began to contemplate his new weapons. He turned to Davaran. "Hey, do you have any idea how these alien things work? I mean, I know that you just kinda point and shoot, but how does it know what you're shooting at? The pink bullets seem to follow the target even if he moves around. And how come it makes them blow up if you shoot a lot?"

Meanwhile, Yi had finished cleaning her battle rifle, and was trying not to look at the pale-skinned man with the modified sniper rifle. Something was odd there. It had looked like he was analyzing a topographical map of the area they had just left, which made little sense, given that they were leaving, not going in. She shook her head. The datapad type had looked vaguely familiar, and it was a bad sign when things looked that way, especially when she was sensing that things didn't add up.

Trying to distract herself, she began to examine the Spartan sitting next to Nuron, and the two had finished their conversation. Her attention was drawn to the combat knives the sniper wore on her limbs. They didn't look even vaguely familiar, and in this case it was a very good sign. Yi pointed to a knife at the Spartan's thigh, and raised her eyebrow. "May I?" she asked, and then as an afterthought, eyeing Rae's rank insignia, hastily added "Ma'am"?

The spartan broke her stare at the floor and looked up at Nuron. "I wouldn't let you leave with out me." She said in an undertone so that the others wouldn't hear. Even if Ten really was dead. She wanted to see for herself.

Another female voice distracted Raevynn from her thoughts. 116 turned to see the marine finish her sentence and point to her thigh. At first the spartan was confused, but she looked down and remembered the combat knives. Raevynn unsheathed the blade and politely handed it over to the marine; pointing the blade at herself.

Atkins saw the spartan give the other marine a knife. He looked at the spartan and out of the blue asked "Where is your friend," He asked referring to Ten. He wasn't sure if he had mmade it out or not but wanted to find out.

Davaran looks at the needler... raising an eyebrow, "You know, that's a good question.... The, hmmm" He leans back a bit. "Maybe they home in on organic matter? but then again they dont go after plants, I bet it's heat... they probobly go after heat because I've seen them track and latch onto vehicles too, but it's just a guess.." Keroth stands there, staring head on. His superior hearing to a normal human enabled him to hear every word of nuron and raes' conversation. He became mildly distrot and annoyed and at that point he motioned for davaran to come over to him. Davaran says excuse me to brute and moves over by keroth. "Whats wrong?" keroth stays silent... Davaran moves in closer so only they could hear eachother. "Those two are planning to go back down to the planet." davaran raises quickly then crouches, trying hard not to direct attention.. "Yeah, the pin is right here, see the barrel? its a bit bent, probobly a direct plasma hit, this pistol may have saved your life!" he says in a.. attempted mild tone. "What do you mean they are going down there?! what could possibly be left.." he says very softly.. "They are going back for that de... sorry Spartan, ten I believe." keroth replies. Davarans gaze sharpens and he places his hand on his chin.. A mild grimace becomes visible. "I wonder if that, razors kiss.... has any longswords left, they may need help." Keroth sighs and replies, "I have no clue as to how a long sword fighter operates, I flew Seraphs.... not human fighters." davaran smirks, "It's simple really, same concept... thrusters on all portions of the craft, changes directions due to thrust to angle ration, quite an easy concept to master, you wanna go left.. you engage a right side thruster.. and since it's all digital, all you do is move a joystick to the left and it calculates it for you." keroth mutters.. "Covenant fighters dont need thrusters, we use gravitational displacement, allowing us to change directions with ease, plus it's more accurate, thus our little dependance on guided projectile weapons.." davarans smirk goes to a frown, "You dont have to rub it in.."
