Your guy was great, Dizz. What Master Chief would have given you was recognition. Nothing against our opponents or their characters, but we both lost a significant number of votes just to unfamiliarity. It was an uphill battle just to get our characters' abilities acknowledged, let alone argue considered dominant. When some voters tried to weigh out the different arguments, the characters with whom they were more familiar had a certain "gut-level" credability that our guys didn't enjoy.

Young Leto was probably even quicker than Drizzt, given the way that he walked all over Fedaykin. Add Drizzt's skills to that...

Your assets vere seriously undervalued.

Your was pretty sweet as well... I'm fearing for my chances at the losers bracket, solely on Benedict. Drizzt has the equivalent of somewhere between 500-1000 years of experience to a normal person... Benedict's got what, 10 times that? Geeze.

I think Leto+Chief+Drizzt would actually be an extremely good combo, now that I think about it. Energy projection goes down a notch, but that's it. Plasma weapons have actually burned through titanium too, so hurting people from range still won't be too much of a problem. Chief's bones are reinforced (we see the wonders it works for Wolverine...), his suit enhances all of his physical abilities. (now with class 10 strength, thanks to Leto) It's wired into his brain to enhance his already above-human reflexes, which were previously enhanced. Plus he's got precog from Leto. Cortana's there to hack the crap out of everyone else's machinery, just for an added bonus. Oh, and he gets a regenerating forcefield and a suit of battle armor.

Basically, my guy would be faster than he is now, stronger than he is now, and better protected than he is now. The sacrifice: Eye beams. Which are really, really useful... But probably not as much so as the huge physical difference. The more that I think about this, the more I kick myself for not thinking of this combination earlier.

I'm still pissed I didn't get a spider clone and throw him in the Cyber Ninja suit. It would 30x Spiderman's stats.

cyber-ninja suit?????? coulda freakin told me about that earlier

Ooh... that is tricky...

Everyone's favorite, Bruce Banner, is definitely legal (Digi's not stupid enough to let him through, bu by the rules set up and some of the arguments that got made, he should have been...) Quite a loophole, that. People with infinite potential weren't banned, apparently.

I'm amazed no one took Bullseye... I shoulda taken him, Drizzt, and Venom, and started all my fights with "I throw my mighty scimitar at your head!"

Someone actually picked Bullseye (Sentry I think) but he must have switched his guys more than anyone (not even including the last second complete switch) so it was only brief.

And on an insanely important note....

BAM! MegaBallz!

Once again, behold the glory and weep. Note the dark skin and lavender eyes (Drizzt) and the '8' on the chest (8-Ball). The color scheme (black & white) was also inspired by 8-Ball.

My original idea was Bullseye, Marrow and Gambit. Unlimited explosive bones to hurl. Plus adamantium skeleton from Bullseye, and healing from Marrow.

had i known about the power stacking one of the guys i considered and rejected would have seriously amped up my amalgam.... i'm talking waaaaay beyond the strength/speed of anyone else here

Scoob got me thinking...

If another tourney happens (I'm not suggesting a new one at this point, just observing) it would probably be wise to not have power meshing like that. Too many of us, by now, have thought of enough ways to create guys that are way too powerful at any level. Had we done another herald-level tourney, I had a few combos that I could argue quite convincingly as completely indestructible (Juggernaut Martian Manhunter or any telepath pops to mind immediately as a character that would be tough to ever kill, and I had much more creative combos as well). And people are probably creative enough to create a herald level guy out of a street-level amalgam by now.

Better yet, I won't be running another tourney if it happens (this is still all very speculative), but I would suggest that it be separate characters rather than amalgams from now on. The powers can compliment each other (Siryn and Dazzler would still work for example, but strength amping and stuff wouldn't be possible) but they can't become insane or godly with their power. Just a thought...

P.S. Love the Marrow/Bullseye/Gambit idea Nat. Good stuff

(if I can miracle my way past stormfront and his phantom supporters at least... 😕...)

meh, now that I'm thinking about it, I really wish I picked tyrant2 (doctor from resdident evil 2) or nemises, with cleric john preston from equilibrium, and ghost rider.... that amalgam would have shitkicked anybody I've seen in this tourny thus far... even TBK. eh oh well...

He's the KMC Artist.

I don't know how long it took him to draw my sig, but it was a long time. I owe him big.

I just woke up today and thought the name "long pig" was funny.

😆

Is it just me or is the last round getting next to no attention compared to the first round?
