Ok well to clear a few things up..
here is an excerpt from HBP..
Snape raised his wand and pointed it directly at Dumbledore. "Avada Kedavra!" A jet of green light shot from the end of Snape's wand and hit Dumbledore squarely in the chest. Harry's scream of horror never left him; silently he was forced to watch as Dumbledore was blasted into the air. For a split second, he seemed to hang suspended beneath the shining skull, and then he slowly fell backward, like a great rag doll, over the battlements and out of sight. (HBP pg 596/556)
It states there that Dumbledore was "blasted into the air" does not say he fell off the ramparts.. nor does it say he just fell over as did Cedric in GoF.
Also.. like previously mentioned, the book focused a lot on silent charms and such.. and like Bellatrix and Moody both said to do an unforgivable curse you have to "mean" it. Now if snape said Avada Kedavra but was thinking something different it may have just been a way to fool the others.. and staying on good terms with Voldemort... and not letting out he is still a spy for DD..
and for "dumbyaintdead" DD teleported in OotP by use of a Portkey.. You can't apparate in or out of Hogwarts.. it's in "Hogwarts a History" but it never says you can use a Portkey.. it'd be along the same lines as using the floo system... How many times have i told you to read it?
but i do think that Fauxes had something to do with DD at the end because it mentions that over the tomb harry noticed something that looked like a phoenix..
and also it says in SS/PS i believe that wizards can't be burnt.. they can simply engage a freezing charm and they will only feel a small tickle.. so burning DD would prove nothing..
but if DD was burned.. could he possibly come back like Fauxes does.. because Fauxes spends a great deal of time attempting to heal Dumbledore.. and also no one sees Dumbledores body after Harry and them leave.. and when Hagrid brings him in to the Funeral it just says it is what harry knew to be Dumbledore's body.
Also it is mentioned during one of slughorn's songs he sings with hagrid that when a wizard died his wand was snapped in two and put in his tomb.. DD's wand isn't snapped and no mention of it was made after it flew from his hand..
and one last thing.. It is never said anywhere that a headmaster or mistress must be dead to have their picture hung.. just simply must be a previous headmaster or headmistress... and the rest just happen to be dead.. more than likely because that was when they stopped being headmaster/mistress.. and dolores umbridge doesn't have a picture up because she was only temporary while DD was asked to leave and also she wasn't able to gain entrance into DD's office and so she could never claim proper headmistress power either
I've been up for about 19 hours at this point so I may not make much sense here, but here goes...
in HBP what did Dumbledore say while on the ground after drinking the potion? I don't have the book handy so I can't check myself at the moment, but it's something like it's all my fault, don't kill them...
Right now, I'm seriously leaning toward the idea that Dumbledore and Snape switched places. Look back at the text of HBP and look how much Ink JKR used describing the effects of human transfiguration(harry's blond eye brow as an example off the top of my head) The conversation Hagrid overheard could have been DD as Snape telling Snape as DD that he was having second thoughts about this plan.
I may have said this before if so I apologize, but what exactly was DD's plan mntioned at the end of OotP? The one he abandoned in favor of Harry's well being?
One other note before I go to bed. For the first time in HBP we see and hear things that Harry is not privy to(the first two chapters)If you recall the opening chapter of GoF Harry dreamed Frank Brice's encounter with Voldemort, but Harry had no knowledge of the events in the first two chapters. That was a first for the series. Why? I think it's a ploy to misdirect the reader.

I don't know, I doubt Dumbledore would fake his death. I mean firstly it would be a bit heartless, he put off telling Harry about the prophecy for so long because of the effect it would have on Harry, then the year before Harry had lost Sirius... It just seems a bit cold to make Harry think he had died, making him think he had lost another person he cared about, which goes against the kindly way Dumbledore had been treating him.And Dumbledore doesn't seem like the person who would fake his death. I think he was prepared to die if need be, if it was unavoidable, and throughout he seems to have made it clear there are things worse then death, although he might have wanted to live he knew that might not be possible. As well there has not really been any hint in the books about people coming back from the dead. Voldermort wasn't quite dead, ghosts are a different matter, so it would be a bit out there if suddenly Dumbledore came back.
Although what if Dumbledore's death helped Harry somehow? Like when his mother sacrificed herself which gave Harry that protection. Maybe something similar might have occured with Harry when Dumbledore died?
I agree.
In book 6 Hagrid overhears Dumbledore telling Snape that Snape must do something that Snape may not feel like doing ✅ Dumbledore is dead but he clearly planned out his death and Snape is clearly Dumbledore's man still IMO ✅
Could it have possibly been Slughorn who changed places with DD instead of Snape? Maybe Slughorn was screaming it was his fault in the cave because he told Voldy about horcruxes. Also, DD attitude in the cave is like Slug's in that he says "aha", and "oho". This would mean Snape killed Slughorn (knowingly or unknowingly) and DD is still alive.

I think Harry is the last Horcrux.... dun dun dun...i have no proof I just think it!
We do not know the exact way to create a Horcruz, other than it's extremely complex magic. It could take a potion for all we know.
However, when Voldemort went to the Potter house, he wasn't thinking to make a Horcrux of Harry, he wasnted to eliminate Harry. When the spell bounced back, he "died."
No Horcrux created. The end.
hmm...... okay, first i believe DD IS dead (i didn't at first, but i believe the JK is telling us the truth that he is)...... but as for Snape..... god i've debated this so many times. I think he's good, but OMG there's so much..... like the thing where DD is saying 'It's all my fault, i killed them....' i thought that this was Snape as DD in ref to James and Lilly! but it cant be as that means Snape is dead and not DD - but then there's the fact that Snape is the first person DD asks for upon coming back from the Cave, and that Snape stupefied Flitwick rather than kill him (if he was bad, then he could have killed him - Snape didnt know that Luna and Hermione were outsideh is office). I think Snape knew that DD was out at the Cave that night - something to do with the potion that DD drank and Snape being the Potions Master etc, or whatever - OMG i gotta go back to my Snape notes and my essay - god i love HBP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey guys check out this link to a thread I made involving Dumbledore's death and his ultimate plans for Harry. It's an interesting theory I think.............

HAHA! Found it: http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/#article:9497
personally i think DD is dead and that the only reason he's in the seventh book is because harry goes and talks to his painting. coincidently i do believe snape is innocent even though he killed him, but thats beside the point. DD will onli show up in th epainting to give Harry advice and i think Harry will recieve some of DD possessions. like his watch, (which has 12 hands on it thta are planets, could be useful somehow to Harry), his wand (its DD wand theres got to be some sort of magical powers i possesses), and fawkes (fawkes hold many secrets that are yet to be known by use and he can apparate pretty much anywhere).
IM with ndfreak.
Dumbledore is dead.
Everyone that Harry has ever been protected by is dead.
James
Lily
Sirius
Dumbledore
Whose next?
He needs to stand against voldemort alone.
If you think about it, harry is now in the same position as Voldemort.
They are both alone to stand against eachother.
The one thing that really confuses me though is Petunia...
Harry remained with her, AND she let him come back time and time again, reguardless of how he had left the house in the previous books.
I know that Dumbledore sent her the letter and everything, but theres still more to her.
But back to DD:
He always knows what he's doing.
He always has something up his sleeve.
He had planned everything with snape, and although i dont think snape wanted to kill him, i think that in the end he was the only one who COULD do it.
Makes me wonder if we are actually going to see much of hogwarts in the final book...What with godrics hollow and all the places he has to go to find the horcrux's.
Sorry, im babbling AND im now officially offtopic lol
