The blasphemy is a Bible term. 🙂
No. Where did you get that?
So, what you are saying is that because you are a Christian you do not have to show respect for people who are not Christians? That is one step closer to being able to kill non-Christians. That would explain why so many people have died in the past at Christian hands. Christians have blood on their hands.

I got it from the Bible.

No that DOES NOT mean that I agree with you (not even remotely). But I still love you with christian love 🙂 .
So, is it ok for you as a Christian to disrespect or be blasphemous against non-Christians?
Please answer this question, by not answering it, the answer will be assumed to be yes.

Shakyamunison,
You are the pot calling the kettle black. Just go back and read many of the disrespectful and blasphemous things that you have written about Jesus and Christianity. I wish I had the time to go back and paste what you have written. 🙂

The word blasphemy suggests insulting a higher power in my eyes, but others may see it differently. But let us quit playing word games because it is useless and has no point. Christ has respect and loved non-believers. In fact, he was continually ridiculed for spending time with 'sinners' or non-believers. The MISTAKES that our Christian predessecors made does not make our faith or the truth invalid. I have no blood on my hands I promise you that. I am not responsible for what others have done in the past. Christ is not responsible. The people that did it and commanded it are responsible and I have no doubt that God has and/or will punish them for their misdeeds. Christians have no right to disrespect non-Christians because we are to follow Christ who loved, cared for, and respected all people. Hopefully, that answers your question Shaky.

Thank you, I know that you are a good person; the proof is in your writing. I was talking to JesusIsAlive, because I don't find him to be very Jesus like.
I believe JesusIsAlive is a good person in truth and that he does care for all of you. However, I believe that he has a difficult time communicating his true nature and feelings over the internet (I know I sometimes do). I also believe he needs more patience. God has infinite grace and patience towards us and I believe that I should imitate him and show grace and patience to others.

We agree, I only hope he is able to understand what you and I are saying. To understand other people, you have to listen, and I don't think he does. What do you think?

I think he listens, but I think he is too easily frustrated with unbelief. I think he has experienced the love of God and the blessing of being saved and cannot understand why others don't want it as well (I sometimes find it hard myself). Once again it is the patience thing.
You need to look outside of yourself. Please understand that how you feel is exactly the same as everyone else. I know because I was once a Christian and I know what "Love of God" feels like, and I get that same feeling now when I chant. This feeling is not unique to being Christian, only the belief that it is.

Originally posted by JesusIsAliveYes, and I guess you think that they just explain in a decent, factual manner these other religions? It's not like they have Buddhist monks telling missionaries to shut up and calling the police. Not like they have every Muslim believing that blowing themselves up is the way to heaven (so much wrong with that one its not funny.) Not like they don't have a mass mix of pseudo-history and down light untruths parading as the "inside scoop" on Masonry. Not like they don't have biology professors threatening students with jail because they don't accept the theory. Its not like they make Mormons look like fools with strange, cultish beliefs, is it? Not like they have Hindus acting like superstitious worshippers of a bully god in the service of the devil, is it?
Distort and demonize? Wow, these are some pretty powerful words.
Oh yes, they are all very rational and fair, aren't they? And they don't distort at all, do they? And they most certainly don't rely on fear and mistrust at all, do they?
