But, that is not why Jesus was sent to earth. Here is the true reason that Christ Jesus was sent to earth, and I quote:

John 3:16-17

It is crucial that we understand that Jesus came to earth to save the world from its sins so that we could have eternal life. This is the true reason why Jesus came to earth, died on a cross, and was raised from the dead by God His Father. This is the message of the gospel, and this is the good news.

He called them "whited sephulcres and hypocrites" [Matthew 23:37]..."serpents...a generation of vipers" [Matthew 23:33]...etc. For that they conspired to kill Him because He posed a threat to their positions of standing in the Jewish establishment of that time They were religious in name only and the Lord knew it and told them so in explicit terms. They were religious imposters as are most people in the world today...only those who come to Jesus Christ believing in repentance are TRUE.

Too, He was very SPECIFIC on how He was to be acknowledged by His followers...hear Him: "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall DIE in your sins: for if ye BELIEVE NOT that I am HE, ye shall DIE IN YOUR SINS' [John 8:24]..."That all men should honour the Son, EVEN AS THEY HONOUR THE FATHER. I don't know about your other stuff, though you are quite compelling, but sadly, what you said here is very correct.

People forget the true meaning of Christmas...instead like you said, they're "wrapped up" in the exchange of presents, eating and drinking well, hanging with family, etc, etc....of which none of this is wrong, IF one simply remembers why the holiday is there in the first place. We are supposed to be happy...celebrate that HE came, not be happy in spite of it...just 'cause it's another holiday to have fun.
