Silver Surfer has done it multiple times, and I even broaden the category to metals. Most of the periodic table consists of metals.

That said, do you know what comic the Kyle's oil feat is from? It seems a bit fishy.

I guess that's slightly more impressive than turning something into gold but that's just me.
