Larfleeze defeated universe destroyer deities, you don't want to get in feat war with him.

He has to fall back to the Silver Age to substantiate his case and even then, all he can do is come up with arguments for how much the Lantern's shields can absorb. Which, ironically enough, is less than the Surfer can withstand unshielded.

These are all post Crisis onwards feats. Silver age feats, which are canon would make this an outright stomp.

I don't see a GL getting ripped apart inside a black hole like Surfer.

But at this point Abhi has already thrown Black Adam under the bus.

Not even close.

I'm at work, so I can't look up or reference these feats. But a quick Google search containing the keywords silver surfer surfs supernova should provide you with a half a dozen reference scans or so.

I've read pretty much every surfer comic ever, most of those scans are out of context garbage.

I'm not sure what to tell you Abhi. Black Adam doesn't have quantifiable feats on par with Silver Surfer and neither does Larfleeze, Kyle has some has some defensive feats that can be compared to Silver Surfer's when you cherry-pick higher showings. But defensive feats are just a small part of the argument.

Even then all Kyle can do is shoot beams of light and create hard-light constructs. Silver Surfer can also do that...and pretty much anything else. Matter creation and decreation, matter-energy transmutation, energy absorbtin, spacetime manipulation, etc.

Surfer could use the Power Cosmic to stop Kyle's heart. What then? There's no energy-blast for Kyle to shield himself against, his heart just suddenly stops. At the end of the day, Kyle is just human, he depends on his internal organs for subsistence, and it's not like Kyle could perform open-heart surgery on himself even with his ring.

Silver Surfer is a less powerful Dr. Manhattan, but with the same range of powers.

So you didn't read pretty much anything.

Okay, show me a Lantern transmuting an everyday object into gold.

Lanterns supposedly can do anything the Silver Surfer can...and more; there are a lot more of them, they've appeared in more stories, there are numerous Lantern Corps, ...and Surfer has done it multiple times.

I'm not asking for much here.

But I suppose I can accept a concession on your part and broaden the requirement to any metals? I'm not going to accept light-constructs like shields or crystals that emulate Kryptonite, because those are obviously not physical objects composed of matter with their own existential inertia.

Generally that would make it less impressive because it means you're just rearranging atoms.

Notice how the objects Silver Surfer transmutes retain their volume and become heavier. He's not just rearranging...or even fusing atoms, he's transmuting them in the most literal sense of the word.

Silver Surfer has done it multiple times, and I even broaden the category to metals. Most of the periodic table consists of metals.

That said, do you know what comic the Kyle's oil feat is from? It seems a bit fishy.

You refused to continue that argument, so I addressed Abhi's claim instead, which was that the Lanterns could do "pretty much anything Surfer can and more," this is the claim you're defending when jumping in for him.

That said, In want to take a closer look at the context of the oil feat. Please source it.

Yes. But that's not what we're discussing at the moment. I'm testing Abhi's claim.

If he, and the rest of you, concede that this claim is false then we can move on to some other claim. But we'll resolve the current claim before moving on to another.

Actually, I was asking for clarification, which you never provided.

So I pushed on regardless, still on the first claim. So I can also show more things that Kyle can do, outside of light constructs and light beams.

I brought up the gold feat and you replied, "does it have to be gold?" That's the current thread. So, you're involved in that topic and we're resolving it before moving on.
