Not really. Looking at it, people watch movies for entertainment. And if they get great entertainment when going to a movie for other reasons than the movie itself then I just don't see anything wrong with it. If you can explain why you see it differently, please do so...

I have explained why. I believe that praising a movie or saying said movie is worth your time simply because of a certain human being in it, or the humans that go to see it, is stupid. If it's not stupid to you, then I question your mentality.
I never said there was anything "wrong", did I? No. I said I find it stupid. Go find someone else to pointlessly philosophise with, Bardock.

But why is it stupid. Why is liking a movie for lets say the cuts ...or the special effects...or the storyline so much less stupid then for an actor in that movie or the audiences reaction of that movie. It's an experience you can only have when watching the movie...it's not more or less stupid (factually) than watching a movie in silence for whatever other reason, just because that is the way you are supposed to watch a movie and the reasons why you watch it. So, it's stupid to you...that's okay, but why is it stupid to you? Since it is obviously not stupid.

Yeah, it is stupid.
Because deeming a movie worth your time simply because an actor is in it, regardless of if he's good or not, is equal to liking a movie for the props, and yes...liking an entire movie for the "props" or people (regardless of if they're good) is stupid. Your desire to be awkward won't change that.
If a movie is shit, with shit acting and shit story, you are proposing that it's not stupid to say "It's good!" off the back of the people who sat there and watched it? If that's the case, you're a moron. I'm not saying it's wrong to prefer watching it with an audience, I'm saying it's stupid to say the audience somehow makes it a good film, which it is.

No to say a shit movie is good is stupid. To watch a shit movie for other reasons is not. That's what this is about, if you happen to have forgotten.

To watch a movie and say it's fun just because of the audience is stupid. To want to see a movie simply because of the audience is stupid. Because it's not going to be the same audience all the time, for one thing.
It's simple, Bardock. No need to wrestle yourself over it.

I see, because every concert of a band will be the same...
If you derive pleasure from seeing a certain actor and that actor is in the movie and you think that watching the movie regardless of what else might be bad about it is worth your time I can't see the difference of watching it for any other reason.

Then the problem is you and your inability to see why it's stupid. That's not my problem.

Or maybe it is the lack of stupidity in it and your constant proclaiming that it is stupid, while not being stupid at all. That one will be pretty impossible to solve it seems.

No, it's not that.
It's a simple concept; Paying money to see what is clearly a movie born and existing as a marketing plot, off the back of an actor just being in it and also the "audience" in a few instances being "fun", is stupid.
If you don't think it is, fine, I'm not asking you to agree. You're just attempting to be awkward because you've grown to like attention a lot.

Paying money for something that will entertain you just somehow doesn't seem too stupid to me. Because, well, if looked at it objectively all I my spending of money comes down to that. Somehow I also doubt that it is different for you.
You could maybe also cut back on the ad hominem arguments. Not because you are necessarily wrong, just because they don't have anything to do with the matter at hand.

So if spending time with people is what makes you happy, do it. That's fine.
The stupid part is paying money for a MOVIE for the purpose of spending time with people, especially a room full of people that you don't know. Which is what he was proposing.
That's like paying for a vacation just to go to a bar.

But he didn't say that it was spending time that he would enjoy he said that it was the reaction of a few people to the movie that would make him enjoy the movie. I realize that going to watch a movie for that is like Russian roulette a bit, but if that would make him happy it doesn't seem stupid to me. And especially the reason that he wants to watch it for an actor seems reasonable.

An extremely good bar that you can only go to when going on vacation.

A) It doesn't seem stupid TO YOU. To me, it does. It might make the experience nice, but it doesn't make the movie better does it? No.
B) Do you know who the "actor" is? If you knew, I doubt you'd be defending it.

Irrelevent.
If you just wanted to go to A bar, no specific bar in mind, and spend hundreds to simply fly out to another country for a pint.

A) And that's what we are talking about. the movie experience. He didn't say he is going to watch it because he thinks it is a great movie, but because the experience will be good for him, since he is going to see the actor he wants to see. You should really get over the "movie: good or bad" thingy, since we are not talking about that...at all.
B) Doesn't matter...even if it would be Nicholas Cage a long as he enjoys it it is not stupid.
Are you maybe trying to say that it would be stupid if you would watch that movie for those reasons? That would make sense, as pointless as it would be.

Yeah, that would be pointless. But, it's not at all a good example of what we are talking about.

No, you're getting it twisted. If the actor is complete shit, and he still likes it purely because of who the man is, that's stupid. That's Justin Timberlake fan mentality.
It's also stupid to assume the movie audience will be the same.

That's dumb logic, but then, it is Bardock logic. Anything is ok if you think it is.
It's not "wrong", or stupid to him, but it's stupid to me. To say it's not stupid simply because he enjoys it is dumb. What Hitler did was pretty bad, but he enjoyed it.

See what I mean? You pointlessly debate me for no reason, then agree with me. Why do you do it? Genuine question. I gave you more credit than to be someone after attention.
