Colossus vs. Captain America

Truthfully, I have my doubts that it can knock him out.

Colossus also beats cap in durability as well. And is equal to Cap in endurance and stamina. And actually, Colossus is faster running-wise.

And, just a heads up, any punches that Cap decides to block with his shield will end up doing this to him:

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c379/Doggydogg/ColossusandCap.jpg

True, he's blocked from the punch, but that will quickly wear Cap down getting thrown every which way by the uber powerful punches. That and Colossus doesn't necessarily have to punch, you know. He can do a pump-fake, Cap puts his shield up, then Colossus just takes it out of his hands as if Cap wasn't even holding it. Then Colossus can either chuck it away or bash Cap over the head with it. Too many ways for Piotr to win this, in my opinion.

Colossus himself may beat Cap in durability. BUT he doesnt beat the shield in that area.

Not all punches from powerhouses sends Cap flying. Most of the time, he braces himself and doesnt move hardly at all. Hed feel the pressure, but wouldnt be sent flying.

I tend to believe Caps reflexes are better than Colossus's. I dont think him doing a pump fake would throw Cap off that much.

You're telling me if you saw Colossus about to swing a mighty-powerful fist right into you, you wouldn't rush to shield yourself from the 100% fatal punch?

Edit:
And of course Cap's shield is more durable than Colossus. Point is, however, that Colossus is nigh-invulnerable all over his body. Not just where a shield can cover.

Dont compare me to Cap. Hes a much better fighter than me, can read moves better than me, plus has much better reflexes than me.

My apologies if that's what it looked like. I meant more, imagine yourself to be Cap. Fast reflexes or not, if a Class 100 fist is coming for your head, you want to shield yourself. Which Cap does, constantly. Just no one has figured out that all they need to do is fake him out and take his shield.

And I didn't mean like a wussy, football pump-fake. I mean, he could look like he's really about to punch and stop just short enough to take the shield.

If Colossus were to do something like that, im sure Cap wouldnt be thrown by it. Cap gets fired by 10's of soldiers and is able to block the majority of it as well as dodge.

Colossus would smush cap. I know cap has fast reflexes and stuff but the only way to really hurt colosus is by using the shield which colosus could actualy forcefully take away from him. After this is done there is no hope for cap to hit colossus without hurting himself so i think colossus wins 10/10

Here is how the fight goes.

Colossus sits down. Shields his eyes with his hands and starts to sleep, leaving Cap to pound him. He wakes up after a day or so, and sees that Cap has given up and left the battleground.

Colossus wins by battlefield removal.

Has anyone ever took the shield right from Cap's hand? Maybe you know some instances, cause i dont.

What happened with the rest of that fight?

The question is that would Colossus have enough speed to do this?

I don't see why not. Especially since he'll be right in front of Cap. Should be pretty easy to reach out and take the shield.

That coupled along with the fact that super-strong characters, in fact, gain some degree of super-speed, in order to make their blows more damaging and such.

Those weren't the real X-Men...

Okay there's a handful of pages dedicated to denting Colossus's eye, completely on the premise that a curvature change would blind him and that would somehow lead to a victory. A couple major issues with that, I start with the ones unsaid:

1. Why should the reshaping of a lens affect sight when an opaque steel-lens is useless for sight to begin with? Colossus is a golem. He moves but his organs cease to work like normal organs. His brain is made of steel but he still has a thinking mind, etc. His eyes cease to be optic organs, but work regardless. It's the nature of his power.

2. Organic-Steel flexes and moves, otherwise Colossus couldn't. Who's to say any deformation to the eye would be remain? If the eye could be deformed by the shield, who's to say it wouldn't bounce back into its right shape? It's a huge assumption to say otherwise.

3. Colossus does have a healing factor to account for such injuries.

4. Assumes the shield can cause any deformation to begin with... controversial at the very least.

5. Assumes Colossus wouldn't defend and/or that the eyes are an easy enough target for Cap.

6. Assumes blindness somehow leads to victory.

1. I understand what you're implying. He doesn't pump blood to feed oxygen to his muscles. So the oxygen/protein expand and contract physical theory of muscle movement doesn't apply. Therefore, it seems more accurate that he psionically controls the movement of his steel muscles rather than physically. But I believe Colossus still uses his eyes to see. As far as I know, there has been no evidence that he psionically sees in the same manner he psionically moves. Otherwise he'd be able to see in the dark or through objects. If his sight is focused through his eyes in a physical sense rather than a psionic sense, it would be more logical to assume that affecting his eye physically would have an effect. Same way as if Thanos plucked his eye out with the Infinity Gauntlet, we would assume he'd go blind. Curvature is as important to eyesight as anything in a physical sense. So if we infer that his eyesight is still more physical than psionic, it would be more logical to assume that messing its curvature would create an analagous effect.

2. Obviously organic steel flexes and moves, otherwise Colossus would be as immobile as a statue. However, the times we've seen his steel flesh pierced or shredded, it didn't just mold and bounce back to its original form. Why should his eyes now have that ability? I believe that is more of a huge assumption than mine.

3. Colossus has never exhibited a healing factor any greater than a normal person's. Greater durability, but not healing. The two times in MU continuity that I know he was truly injured in his steel form (Deathbird piercing him with acid-tipped spear and Pete Wisdom shredding his torso with hot knives), he had to recover normally. Actually, the latter instance was worse. He was so shredded that Excalibur had to keep him in stasis and use magic/tech to repair him before he could revert to human form. Had he not been in stasis, his metal form would have eventually died, and if he reverted to human form he would have died instantly. So it didn't appear that sufficient time would have healed his injuries in his steel form.

4. That's the point of contention. I've posted examples of Cap doin significant damage to metal but nothing definitive to assess either way. It appears in some examples that he's done more damage than .45 calibur bullets, but how would a .45 calibur bullet fare against that Sentinel in that scan I posted? Who knows?

5. I'm not saying Colossus' eyes are an easy target, but they are a target. And I'll post this scan below again... you'll see Cap ignite a lighter without it moving, using a no-look rebound shot of his shield. If anybody could be so accurate to nab as small a target as an eye, it'd be Cap.

6. If I were made blind, and I had a hard enough time of nailing Cap when I could see perfectly,... I'd give up. And lastly, for the people who've been using the scan of Skrull Colossus whamming Cap away:

I knew that scan was fishy. My gut told me so. 😎

Captain America would run after Colossus has punched him twice or maybe that would already be too much for him... lol 😄😄

Codename: Colossus
Real name: Piotr (Peter) Nikolaievitch Rasputin
Group affiliation: The X-Men
Base of operations: Xavier Institute for Gifted Children
First appearance: Ultimate X-Men #1
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 250 lbs. normal, 500 lbs. in armoured form
Eye color: Blue
Hair color: Black

What the Professor says:
"Perhaps the development I'm most proud of is how Wolverine and Colossus have reinvented themselves over these last few months. Both young men raised in violence and misery, they now spend their evenings scanning newspapers for hard-luck stories and unsolved crimes... walking the streets from dusk 'til dawn in search of people who might be in need of their particular kind of help."

History:
A young Piotr Rasputin left his poverty-stricken family to make a living in the United States, where he joined the Russian Mafia. Peter kept his mutant power a secret, and became more and more sucesssful in the mafia world. However, every penny he earned was sent back to his family in Siberia.

During a illegal arms transaction on a dock in New York, Piotr and his associates were backstabbed and attacked with machine guns. Everyone on the dock was killed except for Piotr, who was saved by his mutant ability. Outted as a mutant, Piotr thought his life was over. But, he was found by Jean Grey and offered a place among the X-Men, a team of young mutants dedicated to bringing about peaceful coexistence between the two species of man. As Colossus, Piotr now serves as the squad's super-strong powerhouse!

After they were freed from the Weapon X project, Colossus and the X-Men embarked on a World Tour to promote Xavier's new book. While in London however, Colossus suddenly departed the team, and left home to Russia. With Cyclops and Marvel Girl on his trail, Piotr got a job with a car manufacturing plant, and proclaimed to Scott and Jean that he was indeed happy. Unsatisfied, the two persued Piotr until he explained his reason for leaving. Peter declared that he was unhappy with his place on the team, that he was ignored, and that none of his team members cared for him. Marvel Girl, however, disagreed, stating that his true reason was because of the feelings he had for a fellow team member. Peter promptly dismissed the two. Later that night, however, the local Russian news announced that a submarine had crashed underwater, and that there was no hope for the crews survival. Unable to sit idly by, Piotr took charge and dove to the submarine and dislodged it. When he reached the surface Colossus was doused with media attention, which proclaimed him the most famous super-hero on the planet. Peter put his grudges with the X-Men asside and left Russia with Cyclops and Marvel Girl to meet up with the X-Men in Germany, who were in a heated battle with Xavier's son David. With the professor torn between killing his son and allowing thousands of innocents to perish, Colossus took action, and crushed David with a car, ending the battle, as well as the lives of David and Col. Betsy Braddock.

Colossus and a handful of X-Men were invited to an evening out with the Hellfire Club, the X-Men's secret financers, at their headquarters in New York. There he met the Russian President, who had grown up merely a few miles from Piotr's collective in Russia. The group, including Jean, Ororo, and the Professor, were ambushed and captured. In truth, Hellfire had been monitoring Jean Grey, in order to user her as a vehicle to bring forth their ancient god, the Phoenix. The Phoenix arose in Jean, and she murdered the Hellfire Club. However, Xavier was able to force the Phoenix into submission, freeing Jean from it's grasp. Colossus was unharmed during the ordeal.

Colossus and the X-Men were forced out of the mansion with the U.S. Government on their backs. In the final climactic battle between the X-Men and The Ultimates, America's premier superhero team, Colossus stood his own against Iron Man and Thor, and was able to withstand a localized nuclear explosion direct at him by Hawkeye, proving Piotr's amazing strength.

After hiding out in a suburban New York home (unbeknownst to it's residents, thanks to Marvel Girl's abilities) Colossus and the X-Men located Magneto's flying citidal, using a signal sent by the captured Cyclops. Upon their arrival they were subdued by Magneto's control over the iron in their blood. Using his unimaginable power, Colossus was able to overcome Magneto's influence and broke free, attacking him mercilessly for the harm he had inflicted on Peter's friends, especially Wolverine. His concentration destroyed, Magneto released the X-Men who were able to apprehend him, all thanks to Piotr's determination.

In the Ultimate continuity, it has been shown that Colossus's eyes do not turn into steel, but instead remain organic and vulnerable (in the normal continuity, Colossus's eyes have been able to withstand a gunshot). Also, unlike the "normal" Colossus, when he is knocked unconscious he remains in whatever form he was in (See the "Hellfire and Brimstone" plotline)everything else seems to stay the same. In the Ultimate War crossover with the Ultimates, Colossus fought Thor and had the upper hand against the thunder god.

Colossus possesses the mutant ability to transform his entire body into solid, nigh-invulnerable, organic osmium steel. In this "armored" form, Colossus posses sufficient strength to lift over 100 tons. He can withstand the impact of a 5,000 ton speeding train, the ballistic penetration of a 110 millimeter Howitzer shell, and the explosive force of nearly 500 pounds of TNT. He is highly resistant to heat and cold (being able to receive full-force blasts from The Human Torch and/or Ice Man without taking damage) and can survive temperature extremes from -320o Fahrenheit to approximately 9000o F. Being conductive, he is immune to electricity. Colossus's armored body cannot rust.

Powers and abilities
Colossus possesses the ability to transform his entire body into a form of organic steel, named by some sources as analogous to Osmium, but of still unknown composition.

In this transformed state, Colossus' body gains around a inch in additional height and his body mass is at least doubled. The source of Colossus' gain in height and muscle mass is unknown, but possibly extradimensional.

While in his armored form, Colossus possesses significant superhuman strength. As a teenager, Colossus powers allow him in "Class 100" Power Level (able to lift in excess of 100 tons). The full limit of his strength has not been revealed. Aside from this great strength, in his steel form he possesses a high degree of invulnerability to conventional injury. Colossus' armored form can withstand extreme temperatures, falls from great heights, high caliber machine gun shells, large amounts of explosives, etc without sustaining injury. A side effect of his armor's strength enhancing effect is a vastly greater muscle efficiency than an ordinary human. While armored, his muscles generate considerably less lactic acids than those of ordinary humans, granting him superhuman levels of stamina in all activities. He can exert himself at peak capacity for several days before fatigue begins to impair him. Colossus' armored form is also invulnerable to rusting under Earthly conditions. Colossus has demonstrated very little need, if any, to breathe while he is in his armored state and there's no known limit as to how long he can remain in this form. Colossus also has no limit with his strength, as long as he ages works out in his normal form his steel form will continue to grow stronger.

Colossus cannot transform a single portion of his body into this armored state, he must either be completely transformed or remain within his normal state.

I'm sorry but in either Ultimate or 616 Colossus is one of the greatest character's. He would defeate Thing and Cap

dude colossus cannot lift over a 100 tons please. somone needs to take there pills here. his limit is about 80 tons or so. y do u think colossus gets his ass kicked from hulk and juggy ? hello there alot stronger cause there class 100 not damn colossus

I could have swore Colossus hoged Thor, and Ironman out in a fight, and Thor is class 100. Colossus so far has shown the greatest strength so far in The marval universe picking up the submarine out of the ocean.

As for The Thing vs Colossus, in 616 I think Thing would win because of durability and Strength. In the ultimate Universe I think Colossus would win. Colossus has shown more strength and durability than Thing so far. I mean Thing was taken out by a buzukia, as for Colossus he has taken a sudmerine out of the ocean,Stoped a speeding train, survived a nuke blast, and has fought greater enemies then Thing(Besides Zombie Hulk).

As for combat experience experience in 616 I go with Thing, but in the Ultimate Universe I go with Colossus. As the comix said Thing was a high school football player before becoming a hero while Colossus was in the Russian Mafia.

So in a 1 on 1 fight Colossus vs Thing I go with Colossus because of combat experience, strength, and durability. Colossus has just shown more of all these so far in the Ultimate universe.

couldn't agree more soujaboy. when I first saw this fight I thought it was a joke or a spite thread. current colossus is so far out of cap. league it's not even funny. Cap is good but he's not that good.

after seeing the thor fight I am now of the opinion that cap. is the most over rated person in all of fiction.
