It's a new power. He did it last issue of Excalbur. He seems to be in the beginning stages of a pretty big upgrade by Marvel, which may include immortality and reality manipulation.

In the AOA timeline, when Magneto is good and he leads the X-Men, He is WAY more powerful. He ripped Apocalypse to shreds using only his magnetic powers. AOA Magneto is definitely strong enough to take out Hulk. Hulk would probably regenerate, but a kill or a KO equals a win in my book. So I'll have to say Magneto.

AOA Magneto is NOT more powerful than MU Magneto. He's actually A LOT weaker than MU Magneto. Why?

1)AOA Magneto is a 70 year old man. He was never turned into a baby and restored to his prime like he was in the mainstream universe

2)AOA Magneto lost half of his power, giving it to Rogue in an effort to save her life

3)AOA Magneto was never encased in metal and sent through the Magnetosphere of Earth, which enhanced MU Magneto's sensitivity to EM energy so much that he was able to manipulate electrical impulses at an atomic level.

Anything AOA Magneto can do, MU Magneto can do A LOT more easily.

so the new magneto is damn near godlike...

I give this a tie hulk is way to strong to be badly hurt and magneto has the power of magnatism. Magneto could encase the hulk and crush him but it would take extreme effort as the hulk will try to force his way out. If magneto some how manages this he can take the hulk. 50/50

same goes for AOA Apoc too....I believe Magnus could take the Hulk...sooner or later.

And i have been reading a lot and a lot of other forums where people and many, many don't even take seriously whate happened in AOA at the end between Magneto and Apocalypse.

Apoc will be back...and I think AoA Apoc is weaker than "mainstream" Apoc...but Hulk and Magneto...Magneto all the way. and that Apoc being ripped in to bits by Magneto.....neuralyzer never happened...Apoc won..heh heh heh heh heh.

AOA Apo has no reason to be weaker than MU Apoc. He just got beaten up. No shame in losing to Magneto...

Given that Apocalypse is dead in four timelines, I think labelling him as "immortal" is a bit dubious.

there hasn't been an Apoc vs. Magneto thread in awhile. I miss beating up on him....

Apoc coming back in June...last time I checked it always took a ton of xmen to take down Apoc..more so than it took to take down Magneto...and in the 12 storyline Apoc captured Magneto no problem.

Apocalypse potential is undoubtely beyond Magneto. Even if Apocalypse will be show much more pwoeful than Magneto, he will lose to moment Magneto will be shown as good guy, but he wouldn't be able to kill Apocalypse. If Magneto turns to bad guy, and we see Apocalypse vs Magneto fight, Magneto dies for good and probably pretty easily would lose fight. In X-Factor 68, Apocaylpse has been mentioned for the first time what he is in his true potential, where he belongs, he is being in cosmic class and belong in celestai pantheon. Writers were writing Apocalypse as a cosmic force, they even wrote off other Apocalypse appearences as avatars, with the big one, Apocalypse Prime as he was called, was supposed to be close to his potential and even Black Bolt with his many other help, couldn't even faze him. Even combined powers of Nate Grey, Jean Grey and Cyclops (all with full powers) combined couldn't even move him, but Apocaylpse after that only teleported away. Apocalypse has never been shown with true powers, beacuse he hasn't slept for long enough and his pwoers wasn't awaken at his trully rightful pwoers, in X-Facotr 68 he showed only part of his true potential. I have some feeling if Apocalypse will be brotugh back, he will be awaken and for the first time shown with true potential, it was even rumored that Apocalypse will, if he will, brought back and explained as force of nature, earth creature easily in cosmic class wtih his true powers. Marvel always said, Apocalypse has never been revelad of his true powers, maybe someday he will be.

Magneto's beaten the whole team of X-men. And he's rendered helpless the X-men, X-Factor and X-Force at the same time. The most X-men Apocalypse has ever fought at once was six. And he's lost to X-factor a few times...that's the same lineup Magneto fought in 1973, lol.

Apoc didn't capture Magneto himself, and Magneto didn't have his powers turned on at the time, either. He was borrowing them from Polaris.
