Plus Thor's Storms would just have flat out Greater Energy being genreated than Storm's and there is no lasting about it.
Thor simply wills Storm's power unable to work by making it so teh Weather can not be manipulated thus Storm is powerless Thir wouldn't be.

For instance this match isn't about out lasting it is about when Thor decides to end it. He simply wills it so Storm can not control the weather patterns Storm becomes as helpless as a baby.
Thor just has more energy he can put into his weatehr power therefore his powers are just flat out better.
