Death Penalty

But I said they had to be sure using DNA testing...absolutely sure.

Things like this get bend... And even though DNA testing means a lot it does not necessarily proof that the guy from the DNA commited the murder. There was a mistake like this over here in Holland not to long ago.

Guy was released from prison because of that, a mistake was made by the investigators. His DNA was on the crime scene but it had nothing to do with the crime.

Even DNA evidence isn't absolute. Someone whose found legally guilty by a jury can be innocent, while someone whose found legally innocent by a jury can be guilty *cough* OJ Simpson *cough*, it's still based on the subjective opinion of twelve men and women, thus I don't think it's acceptable to exact an irrevocable penalty.

Execution if someone is caught in the act killing little kids? I wouldn't necessarily support it but I wouldn't necessarily object to it. I still find the death penalty unseemly.

That's why I said the courts needs to be revamped...But I am talking serial killers....and many times in court, you cannot bring in older evidence if it doesn't have anything to do with the current case.

Perhaps when the Serial killer is caught in the act on tape or something. Otherwise it could still be false... Thats hte problem with the death Penalty. Although there are cases in which it could be justified, there are far more cases in which its hard to judge at best and people are still going to get executed in those cases.

Like I already said, people won't stick with just serial killers who get caught in the act on tape. Soon it will be somebody saying he caught the serial killer and that testimony is going to be enough, and before you know it you will actually have people getting killed because people think they might have done it.

Thats what happens with shit like this.

Is that the whole "double jeopardy" thing?

yes, it does...

OK...heres some plans.....

Revamp the courts and change policies.

Create more and more jails (which people don't want in their areas)

Make them wear tethers so we know what they are doing all the time and live amongst us.

Implant them, so we can keep watch by satellite.

Death penalty.

Reuse them in dog food....and soylent green..

Ship them to an island somewhere forever and let them fight amongst themselves....OH NOOOOOOOO....😱

problem with that.
tracking them won't always work...that won't stop them from killing people. keep them in jail, or death sentence...

shock Soylent Green is people! It's people!!!

Hey, heres an idea from the middle east....cut off body parts...That should be a deterrent...It works there... 😕

😆 😂 Should this be in the cannibalism thread?????

I don't really care either way. But a person worthy of the death penalty should stay alive in prison in my personal opinion. Living the rest of your life in 3X5 cubicle (smaller than most interiors of cars) for 23 hours a day with no connection to the outside world would drive a person mad. No books. No entertainment. Just you and the walls. Every day. Every minute. The inmate would be BEGGING for death.

ok about the cutting off body parts, that is against the law. Cruel and Unusual Punishment.

And electrocution is nice all of a sudden?

that doesn't fall under cruel and unusual punishments...

It does according to the EU, Human rights organisations and most other country's in the world.

it isn't cruel or unusual according to the US.
So they commit capital crimes! should they get off lightly no. they should get the death penalty. cruel or unusual punishments is illegal, but using letal injections or electricity legal, and hasn't changed yet.

In that case the US should just change the law and start cutting of body parts, I mean if the US law is all that matters then I don't really see the problem with doing that.

that goes against the amendments of the US. it is cruel and unusual punishment.

I'm for cruel and unusual punishment.... 😂 😑

You steal....off with your hand!!

You rape...off with your ....well, you know....

Yeah but so is electrocution according to international law.

Seeing as the US measures whats cruel and unusual by its own standards it could easily change those standards to allow mutilation.
