Superman vs. Hulk

But thanks for showing them so people can see the PIS for themselves.

I'm not so sure this IS plot induced stupidity as far as the comic is concerned. At best this might be character induced action as far as Gladiator is concerned.

Here's why I think that.
Hulk is being CARRIED by Gladiator.

Not thrown or punched.

Let me put this in human terms.

Imagine yourself for a moment trying to read an open book, turned to page 36, that is magically flying through the air at, say, 100 miles per hour.

Can't do it, right? The book probably zips by you before you can discern so much as 10 letters.

Your friend Joe, standing 20 feet off from you, doesn't do much better.

But that's 'cause both of you are standing still.

Let's change one thing. Let's have YOU moving at 100 miles per hour. YOU, in fact, are a passenger ... on Japan's bullet train. The book is on a table in the dining car of that train. You are seated at that table. You are able to read that book. In fact, you are also able to drink a cup of Constant Comment tea without spilling a drop of it, even though the tea, just like you, is likewise moving at 100 miles per hour.

What's changed?

Your inertial frame of reference.

The fact of you being carried along WITH that 100 mile-per-hour book changes the reality. That book is unreadable when it is going at 100 miles per hour and you are not.

It is perfectly readable, however, when YOU are traveling the same speed as the book. It changes from a blur passing by you, to a story you can digest at leisure.

To your friend Joe? Standing as he was in the original scenario in the exact same spot.

That book is STILL a blur. YOU are a blur along with it now.
So is that cup of tea.

But I'll bet you won't spill a drop of it on the bullet train.
And you'll enjoy page 36 of whatever story you're reading.

... and the parallel between you and Hulk in that Gladiator scene should be fairly clear.

Gladiator is the bullet train carrying Hulk in that scene.
Gladiator is both "vehicle" AND "passenger".
He is the driving force. But he is also his own cargo.
Hulk is merely additional cargo, or, 2nd passenger, if you prefer.

Instead of reading a book, Hulk is reading Gladiator's intentions. Instead of sipping tea he is clapping Gladiator's ears. The change in inertial reference frame is what permits Hulk to do this.

Just as being on the bullet train would allows you to read a book traveling at otherwise hopelessly blurring speed.

errm...i will ask a real question related to the topic...how can kingpin be any use to Lex? and i don't think kingpin has been any issue to the hulk...

you know what? forget my last post...if these were the Animated versions of Hulk and Superman which versions get the most wins?

Superman.

Disagree with the last part sharply. "Id" is working on a respect thread of Lobo and it shows that quite frankly, he clearly vaulted himself to premier superbrick status in DC, if not in all of comics. He's not a perfect superbrick, but putting Superman that far above him is just something I refuse to get onboard with.
Don't get me wrong, I love Lobo. In high school my roommate had every single appearance of Lobo to that point, and I read them all. And I've collected pretty much everything since that point, though haven't gone back and collected all of that older material yet.

However, both of those moments still stand and are still fairly recent. Supergirl did appear much more powerful head to head in Titans, and Batman did kung fu him up and was choking him out.

Come on, Batman hurting Lobo is even more PIS then Hitman beating him.. 🙄

Supergirl and the Titans also had a hard time with Lobo in Blue Beetle.

The Goddamn Batman strikes!

The only time "batman" and "pis" are acceptable in a sentence together is when "lost due to" is in the middle.

Unless, of course, your bullet train was travelling at a speed far in excess of the speed of light. Or even at the speed of light. Or even half the speed of light. You won't be able to even realise you're on the train, let alone that you have a book to read, or tea to sip.

Superman survived 100 nukes before several upgrades.

He's used a wrecking ball as a weapon, swinging it himself.
