Yes, it was shown in Anarky series as well. ODG refuses to accept it though because Orion appeared in issue 1. Issue 6 outright confirmed that Orion died in the War in Heaven in the final confrontation where he fatally wounded Darkseid.

The only Darkseid that has actual combat feats are his Avatars because no one has seen True Form right? Thor vs Darkseid avatar? Who knows?
