To elaborate for someone who might be genuinely curious and not using the verses of the Old Testament to attack Christianity:The verses stating that we are to put homosexuals to death--actually, it is the act of homosexual intercourse that was cause for death, not the homosexuality, though that is largely irrelevant with regard to this question--are part of the Law, a set of rules given to the people devoted to God. The Law was communicated through angels and the purpose was to set apart those who followed God from those who did not. Included in the Law were animal sacrifices as a means to atone for sin and cleanse uncleanliness caused by violations to the Law. However, with the sacrifice of Christ, Christians are no longer bound to the Law because Christ was the perfect sacrifice and gave us the gift of salvation, whereby our sins are forgiven forever--for those of us who choose salvation, that is. Those who do not are under the wrath of God, but that's a matter for another thread.
sup dude
just cause the mosiac law dont condemn a man to death for the 'act' of gay sex, doesnt mean that having thoughts about gay sex aint sinful. sin begins in the heart dude. basically what ur saying wit this argument is that god condones and encourages sinful thought patterns. aint true bro.
if i excessively think about lying, then ive already commited the sin of lying, and if i excessively think bout stealing, then ive already commited the sin of stealing. if i excessively think about having butt sex wit a man, then..well..ya know...same deal as bfore.
im not sure how long a person has to harbor a thought, before god considers the thought sinful, but ya know god is righteous and loving an all, so im sure he makes a fair judgement on this, depending on the person.
so anyway, your wrong ya know. but i do like your name though.
