You are trying to get an answer from someone, who if you met them in real life, you would hand them back the religious pamphlet, and move away as fast as you can. 😆

When I was in London, I saw a guy talking to a group of kids. He told them that if they didn't become Christians, they would cheat on their wives, and end up in jail because they didn't pay their taxes. 😆 True story... 😆

Many people who are ignorant on the subject of sexuality only see homosexuality as an act, or a behavior. Not as an orientation. However, homosexuality, like heterosexuality, is more than just a behavior.
It is
a part of who they actually are, not just what they do. Heterosexuality is a big part of who you are as well. Your heterosexuality lead you to fall in love with your wife/girlfreind, it created your children, it created your family, it determined many of the life choices and decisions you have made, and has contributed to your happiness.Likewise, although being Gay is not the defining factor in my person, it has determined many of my actions, thoughts, choices, perceptions, feelings, etc.
I'll share:
My sexuality plays a big role in my life. Ofcourse, I am more than just a gay person, but being gay plays a big role in my life.
It has helped shape:
My relationship with my family
My relationship with my freinds
My relationship with other men and women
My perceptions and biases towards politics, religion, culture, etc.
My taste in art, movies, images, media, etc.
My own artwork
My romantic/sexual relationships (which u know is always a big deal to any person)
My feelings about myself and other people
My empathy towards other minorities
My self image, and desire to improve my body
The way I treat other people
My educational choices
My sense of humor
My choice in choosing freinds
etc.etc.etc...i can go on and on.

Quiero Mota, you yourself even came up with a theory that if I were straight, I'd be totally different. You even went as far as to say that if I were straight, I wouldn't have had such a critical opinion of Christianity and Islam.
Now you are going to say that being Gay has nothing to do with one's being ?
😬
That is true. Gay people also have kids, that does not determine thier sexual preference.
Thats all fine and dandy, but you still agreed with my point.
Of course a person's sexuality plays a big role in their life, but the fact that I like women is not an essential part of what makes me me. A lot of gays act like their personality and individuality is entirely dependent and revolves around the fact that theyre gay.

I never said I didn't...

Everything that makes you you is essential. Everything. Is your taste in cars more important than your taste in women ? Is your career more important than your wife ?
You even argued one time that I shouldn't insult the Quran because even though it is just a book, it is part of what makes a Muslim a Muslim...now all of a sudden, you have a different opinion?
What you refer to are Flamboyeant men, men who pretty much don't feel any other part of themselves is relevant or outstanding enough, so they beleive being Gay actually makes them special.
It doesn't...there's far more to a person than being Gay or Straight.
But it is still a part of their identity. An inseparable part. You cannot deny that.
Thats the stupidest thing I've ever heard, if you choose which college/University to go to based on your sexual preference you're an idiot.
Lets say there is a degree you want to do, it will get you a job you love and lots of money, the catch is, in the college they're non too fond of gays, would you still go?

Gay kids attend that school because it has a high gay alumni. Ofcourse, straights are allowed to, but this school it centered on creating a free environment for gay and lesbian students to be themselves without being attacked for it (physically or verbally)
I do not thnk that is a bad idea, althought sexual preference should not be the main factor in deciding what school you attend.

Yes...tons of Gay students go to schools that are not gay freindly, I thought you knew this already.
P.S. I do not attend that school. I attend the School of Visual Arts in NY

I think that's quite a bad idea, I really don't think that any straight person would want to go to that school, then it becomes a "Gay" school, then some assholes decide that if there is a gay school there should be a "Straight" school - No gays allowed.
That school is promoting segregation based on sexual preference in eyes.

No it is not. Straights are allowed if they choose to attend. If a straight man or woman does not want to attend, that is there choice. There is no segregation.
Gay kids are always the minority in every general school, always surrounded by straights and straight culture, and it never fails that when boys kiss thier boyfreinds, or when girls kiss thier girlfreinds, they will always be taunted, stared at, and scrutinized over it by straight or in the closet bullies.
And technically, most schools ARE "straight" schools, because schools which celebrate diversity and accept alternate sexual orientations are also in the minority in this country.
Yes straight people might be allowed to go, but what straight person would want to? Knowing that if you see a girl or guy you like they won't be interested at all. So it ends up being totally gay where straight people neither want to go nor wouldn't feel welcomed.
Straight Culture, gays have a different culture? Hahah, I think you're making gay people out to be more different than they actually are, they like men instead of women, big deal.
Most people get taunted and teased at school, deal with it like everyone else, gays are no different.

I dont have a different opinion. The Koran is what makes a Muslim a Muslim. It tells them how to live every aspect of their life, and says that being a Muslim supercedes all other identities like their nationality, race and so on.
To my knowledge, there's no 'Gay Bible' that says the same.

You could simplify all that, by just saying "gay men".
And I guess that answers my question as to why gays feel that the fact that they like guys is a key part of who they are.

Boris is right; being gay shouldnt matter when it comes to educational choices. College campuses are extremely liberal, with the exception of a handful like Notre Dame and Georgetown.
